SiCaln Posted August 25, 2010 Author Posted August 25, 2010 if it helps I have an oil leak from the crank shaft oil seal on the gearbox side Quote
SiCaln Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 Sky Insurance have quoted me £1141 for a year's insurance with 4 years no claims unprotected - 6k milesPerformance Direct - £1280Swinton Specialist - £1700But by and away the best so far Adrian Flux, 10k miles, protected no claims, third party on other cars, like for like, £300 excess £984A-plan - £940Then as usual went back to my current insurers Sky, and they matched it for £940, why don't they just do that in the first place? Now £300 excess, 10k miles, protected ncb Quote
ecksjay Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 thats alot for something that doesnt get used. ;]how old are you now anyway? if i was paying anywhere near a grand for car insurance now i'd cry. Quote
SiCaln Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 26, i kno not keen on the cost but i still love the car Quote
SiCaln Posted October 24, 2010 Author Posted October 24, 2010 Not been much to update u on lately but having seen this on TGTT felt it may help me to free some space upLinkyManaged to remove the charcoal filter from the air con I ditched nearly two years ago and some of the other servos related to it, helps me access the fuel filter and see bit more of the firewall lol, unfortunately can not relocate the box attached to the big bracket as the king lead wont reach Off this week so hoping to sort the rest of the engine bay too, need a new custom fuel line and to replace my two-piece design rocker to catch can oil pipe, also I'm waiting on a 90 degree bend EGT sensor that I need to fit into the exhaust side of the tubbyKnow it has been said before, but shouldn't be too far from mapping once that it is all done Quote
SiCaln Posted October 24, 2010 Author Posted October 24, 2010 Thanks bud, lookin 4ward to using it to it's full potential tbh but I know when it's mapped in it's current state i'm gna keep looking out for a well priced HKS f-con Pro V gold and Cruise 256 cams, because in my mind that is the end of it...which obv means another remap lol Quote
Sparky Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Looking good mate!Checked that thread the other day actually, deffo on the list of things to do when my engine comes out!Hope all goes well from here mate Quote
SiCaln Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 The shitty Earl's fuel line has been replaced with a custom rubber model for Hel Performance very quick turn around and far more solid too very pleased, also purchased a new EGT sensor at a 90 degree angle but feel it may be too long as it shorts every time I rev it, I assume because it is touching the inner side of the turbo, is it possible to cut the length of the probe down?! Quote
SiCaln Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 Bit of house keeping first, sick of the light flashing on the EGT gauge, so will be buying one of the Civic racing rad and fan sets and one of JD Tuning's mounting sets, then I can finally get my Defi gauge wired up properly again (the 90 degree one doesn't work). In addition when I coast over the speed bumps down my road the oil pressure drops right down and the Defi gague beeps at me so may need a ZEP baffled sump in the near future too, esp if I ever plan on attacking the track. After selling the E-manage Ultimate Riko happened upon this for me; HKS F-Con V Pro Gold 3.1, so Jeff will be packing some serious computing power behind all the grunt, just waiting on the auto TPS and custom plug-n-play loom that are en route Quote
Glanza_cl Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 awesome stuff! that should allow for some uber fine tuning ever thought when mapping to run say 10%meth? lower det, more power at lower boost, win win lol Quote
Sanchez Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Nice mate!Did you see the link i posted on the rad brackets thread dude? Also where you get EGT sensor from and how much as i have a gauge and no sensor... Quote
SiCaln Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 once your rad set up is on u can have this one off me if you like, what type of gauge? Quote
