thanks to Alan and Joel there's a bunch more off the list tonight. Oil pump was removed, and it was discovered that this was indeed the source of our leak. looks like it's never been off as the original sealer had just perished to shit. so, new crank shaft oil seal fitted, and oil pump cleaned and refitted and resealed with fresh sealer. she'll be left to dry for a while now, then the time will be upon us...is she fixed?? has the leak been stopped??

Joel kindly provided a new K&N filter for the rocker breather.

and, the Apexi Vacuum gauge is mounted and the wires and vacuum piping run through the dash.

its so close i can hear the GReddy dump valve in my head in work!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I'll build an illuminated ignition for my car too. Would look awesome in a bright white, I think (I want to have my interior lighting in red and white, red as it's not too bright for not so important stuff and white for the important things like the clocks).

Also, what part of the handling mods had the most impact on handling in your eyes?

Sidenote: Look into my thread, have a little riddle for you ;)

I will try to get some in the near future then. I'm finally starting to make a list in my head what needs to be done in what order. Final goal is turbo conversion. With a FMIC behind the Carat front I'll hopefully have at least in December (you might have seen my wanted thread for storage as shipping is rather expensive)

front upper strut, do that first. Glanza/GT ones are nice and cheap and postage shouldnt be too bad. or, what about Weicher strut braces?? They're a German company, do they do braces for Starlets? if so postage would be cheaper. if its not them there is definitely a German company that does cages and braces!

then upper rear strut.

then a RARB.

then a lower front strut.

then a front ARB (I haven't do this yet as im lazy)

then a rear lower strut if you can find one ( i need to do this still too).

dont forget if you lower it you'll want a panhard rod too dude.

In the German Toyota Forum there is a Ultraracing Group buy every few months. The struts are then cheaper than anytime else, apart from buying used ones. Wiecher only makes front and rear upper struts, but they are more expensive than the Ultra Racing ones in the group buy are. Also they are always red. And the alloy ones are another bit more expensive.

Also Ultra Racing did do room bars I think. Didn't they? But with the full Ultra Racing kit out of the Group buy I'd be looking at 600€ I think. And bearing in mind how many braces that would be it's cheap. Also I can buy bit by bit. But this time the Group Buy is almost over and I don't have money to spare for that. At first I need to pay the guys on here that have some stuff reserved for me. First keep the promises then think about other stuff ;)

The Weicher stuff might only be red, but there isn't a single other EP on UKSC that I know of that uses Weicher stuff. we have one of the alloy ones for a fiat in the garage, its good gear.

Ultra Racing only did room bars for EP82s, however, I have one fitted to my car, you just have to drill new holes.

but there is loads of time to sort all that stuff as you say dude, get the other bits sorted first.

Its Wiechers, Phil. Simple reason, a german company for struts and cages and stuff would never call themselves "Weicher" because that means "softer" in German. I think those parts wouldnt sell ^^

Update

As has already been noted, I have not been providing picture updates of all the work that has been going on. So, I fixes that. Nao.

So, first it had to be removed from it's tomb, and as you can see, she was full of boxes and bits and bobs to sort out and fit:

cheers boys.

next up is starting her up to see if the oil leak is gone. and hopefully ECC will machine my CJ Performance cam pulley to fit. also need to sort bungs / sensors for the GReddy/Grex oil filter relocator.

today i also removed the additional spacers we had put in the bonnet raisers when we couldn't get the bonnet to close over the very first FMIC piping route. been meaning to take their rusty asses out for years and always forgot, so did that today as they aren't needed and got some nice grease on the bolts to ensure future ease of bonnet removal.
