the quiet achiever
so what i need st185 calipers.. 318 bmw disc's.. but i dont understand what i need to modify to make them fit ?kurthi there is no modification needed it all fits on like an OEM set-up the only engineering required is a shim/ washer under caliper mount because of miscalculation in measurement &a spigot adapter to centre disc on hubdoes this make sense lyle

Josh@TunerLifestyle
really would like to give this a go but it looks so complex! wat do you mean by make a donut and this part :machining tip :machine to press on hub &it stays on hub when you remve disc or machine to press indiscafter trial fitting new parts I found I had mis calculated the hat/offset by 3mm no biggy I justcan anyone do this or is it something a specialist would need to look at?cheers josh
5T4R7ET N/A
nice one mate, was planning to do this soon. ^^^ i thing the spigot for the ep82 will be slightly different because ep82's have a 54mm bore, otherwise it should be the samesomeone confirm?

Raffi
As I understand it. The calipers are from a celica GT4 st185, and so are the pads. And the discs are from a BMW e30 318 (260mm and bolt patterns are 4x100mm, disk thickness 22/21mm, vented)Is this correct? The part number for the dics, is it for original discs or some other make?I am, maybe going to try this, it all depends on how much I can get the calipers for.
mk1kurt
Cheers raffi summed it up nicely cheers mr achiever Kurt

Aus_EP91
You need to have a centre ring made up (this isnt easy for everyone) for the disc as the hub carrier on the starlet is 55mm and the BMW IS QUITE larger. Doing it this way you dont need a back spacer BUT you need someone to machine that ring in the middle, which isnt easy for everyone to get done. And you HAVE to use this centre spiggot spacer with this option, if you dont the outcomes of not using it will be far worse than if you just use larger studs and a spacer.I guess thats the trade off. BoGlE
So how big do i need the shim/spacer to be to centre the disc?
