What Bhp is safe on a stock block??

as title says really just bought a glanza running 237bhp just wondered if it's safe at that bhp it's all been setup by TD

Emanage ecu , fuel pump , fpr , remap , boost gauge , boost controller , TD04 , fmic etc etc

it's leeroys old car any info would be appreciated!

Mate if td set it then its live. they only set a car up to what is safe for it

Thats pretty much the limit of a stock lump, personally i wouldnt run it at that as IMO its almost a time bomb but ill be dependant on condition of engine.

But im sure others will disagree an say theyve had more powerful and been running for years on a stock motor.

I dont have a turbo motor just read about them alot.

thanks guys yeh i thought that...if it wasnt safe they wouldnt have set it at that ...you rekon buying a ebc would help with this???

its actually 237.6bhp and 199.9 i'm guessin one figure is at the wheels???

I cant see a ebc hurting, and they do help with spool up if setup well, plus they have spike warnings etc which is nice to have.

I would assume thats fly and wheels unless your hi-lo boost button still works?

Have you checked to see if leeroy had an old build thread?

There is someone in the power leader board running 260 ish bhp on a stock motor. On TD04.

Really appreciate the info guys. Leeroy is a top lad honest as he could be. Got receipts from TD its been set up coorectly its just in my mind because its so fast lol. And i dont thrash cars anyway i just want it to last ;)

I thought Sparky ran 1.4 bar and it blew up on the rollers, but yes what everyone else has said. At that bhp though standard i wouldnt expect that engine to last longer than 12months! i would stick to around 210hp on standard you can sleep at night knowing it will last! at that kinda hp you are likely to snap a rod or crack a ringland

if its not running an boost controller then turn the boost down on actuator,with these cold days the boost will spike more causing it to run boost due to the cold air - just a precautionary measure.

i was planning on running mine at 1.1 on TD04 but think i may just stick to 1.0 as shes my daily lol

Get an ebc and run it at .8bar, it will be set at 1 bar at present for the 237bhp give TD a ring if you are unsure ;)

The issue on these engines is there age.... Mechnical Fatigue is setting in...

Generally... 1bar on a ct9 or 1.2bar on a TD04 is considered the limits...

However it still depends hugely on the mapping... A shit map your car could go pop at stock boost...

Go with a reputable tuner... I know Driver on here ran 1.4bar+ on a td04 on a stock engine for over a year and deathed it with no issues...

Every engine is different and will make different power, td04 and 1bar is fine on a bogo engine and with a decent driver is pretty hard too beat on track.

If your keen on it lasting have it mapped to 1 bar mate will still be 200-220bhp

If your going ebc I'd speak to TD as the boost curve will be different to the one it's mapped for, just a thought

And socks is right it all depends on engine condition and mechanical fatigue
