Socks Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Often overlooked when building a trick starlet... The lighter the wheels the less rotational mass... Check out this brief list of the most popular wheels used on starlets to see how yours wheels may fair! http://www.ukstarletowners.com/page/articles.html/_/wheels-tyres/wheel-weight-list-r44 If you have any other wheels that aren't on the list please get them weighed and post them up! Socks Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 Copy and paste my friend http://wheelweights.net/ Aware of this, but there are a lot of rims that aren't relevant and a lot of JDM rims missing too! Making a topic/wiki section just for us Quote
Foggy Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 My wedsport tc005 feel lighter than my advan rgs. Maybe its down to the tyre. Quote
morgey Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 I know absolute tanks of wheels!and Yeah tyres make a bit of difference I've found, ad08's are lighter than tr1's iirc altho that might be the other way round :s Quote
bucketep91 Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 15" new actions are 500kg not 5.5kg wierdly so are the 14s! Quote
Bluebear Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 (edited) 15" new actions are 500kg not 5.5kg wierdly so are the 14s! You're saying a wheel weighs 500(!!!) kg?! Edited June 12, 2013 by Bluebear Quote
bucketep91 Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 That was a typo lol that would be one fat wheel:) Quote

morgey Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Without tyres.A 195/50/15 can weight around 8kgs Quote
Nanglebadger Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Commented on it regarding Volk 5/4s be interesting to see what u come up with buddy, i'd imagine the fronts are going to be lighter than the rears. mine have tires on them so no use right now for weighing. Phil. Quote
Socks Posted June 13, 2013 Author Posted June 13, 2013 Anything under 6kg each is light tbh... But when you have wheels around or under the 4kg mark that is just silly! Quote
Billy SR Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 (edited) my 14x6 tc05's state 5.00kg on the wheel, that's a funny one. Edited June 13, 2013 by Billy SR Quote

Phil. I've read that they're supposed to be the same weight, but rather it's the 5 spoke you're meant to run for your drive wheels due to the extra rigidity provided by the extra spoke *shrug*. Would look odd I must admit, but I like the idea behind it. Quote
Nanglebadger Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 not what Rick told me. He told me the idea behind them is that it's 4 spokes at the front to reduce weight on the drive train, and 5 spokes at the rear to improve stability. hhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. where are Volks when ya need a quick word with them lol! Phil. Quote
Bluebear Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Interesting....I wonder if there'd be anyone there who'd even be able to answer the question if we emailed them. The designers are probably retired now hah! Quote
