wickedep
hey guys.. i've been meaning to put up a build log on UKSO for the longest time..but just have not gotten around to it till now. i dont get much time to spend online everyday..so i'll do my best to keep everyone updated. some of ya'll may have seen the build thread on tggt.com ..so will be familiar with some info on our car etc. i got the car back in 2011 as a stock 1995 starlet GT. it came from japan with a kakimoto exhaust (quite rusty) and a blitz & hks blow off valve...yes it had two bov's installed by whoever who owned it last..go figure now forgive me for this..but i've never been much of a picture man...so in the first 75% of my GT's life..i took hardly any pictures..out of which i could only find very few to post up. good news is i have a decent amount of pics from like 2011' onwards. i remember the first modification i did when i bought was to fabricate myself a new turbo back exhaust. this also happens to be around the time (late 2011) when i started wickedEP Racing...if i remember right..my own exhaust was the first product i ever made for a GT. some years later i sold that turbo back to another lad who is still running it to this day on his car... anyways..not to side track..first turbo upgrade was a T3 S60 from turbonetics...next was..td04...td05h..a few gt28r's ..godzilla stage 1..billet godzilla stage 3 (currently on the car).. ^^^ the oldest pic of my car i could find...fmic,turbo back exhaust, t3 turbo upgrade with external w.gate...unfortunately i cannot find any engine shots some time later..toms bumper..wheel upgrade and gt2876r turbo. went through many turbos in-between...but cannot find pics.. then came new intake manifold and few other bits including a new 3" exhaust.. damn looking back at these pics whilst uploading them...i am horrified at the messy engine bay LOL...sweet moses...back then i didnt care much...i'd die now if i got up one day now..opened my hood and saw a mess like this.. this you tube video was taken in 2007' ..roughly around the time this previous pic was taken..or there abouts. http://youtu.be/Ld8_yn3Mb4Q
wickedep
now on to more recent time...some where in 2010 the was fitted with a godzilla stage 1 kit...here are some pics...engine bay still messy..but a little better and then a much needed FMIC upgrade..much larger core... a little while later...upgrade from microtech to Haltech...what a different..that LT8 was ancient. also managed to drastically clean up the engine bay and clean up the wiring a bit..still messy..but better..end result..much cleaner looking engine bay.. next came an ignition upgrade...along with this we for rid of the oem wire harness (this thing is heavy by the way) and wired in a tiny harness just to power the essentials...finally engine bay is starting to look acceptable.. now on to bigger and better.... :)
wickedep
side exit fabricated... around this time the car was on the rollers twice..first time it made 312whp and the second time it managed 320whp...but both times..due to some ignition issues..we wernt able to rev the car past 6000rpm...these power figures were made at just 5900rpm...well below the 8.5K rpm shift point managed to find a crumpled up copy of the first dyno run @312whp..despite my best efforts..i could not find the second 320whp dyno sheet... here's the 1st one.. the engine needed a rebuild in early 2012..so slowly got some new upgrades ordered along with the rebuild parts... whilst the engine work was done..i decided to put the car on a diet make a few other upgrades. a 12 gallon fuel cell was installed along with a Aearomotive pump. the stock fuel rail was converted to a dual feed system and ALL fuel lines were replaced with braided line and fittings... polycarbonate windows all the way around... all oem brake lines were ripped out and replaced with braided line along with hydraulic hand brake... was getting a new head ported and built with our existing high lift cams... got the engine assembled and while hand cranking...CRACKK...opened up the head to find this has happend to to the regrinds we were using.. bollocks !!!!! all that hard work prepping the new head gone down the drain...the build had to continue..so i decided to switch back to a stock head (has port and polish only) for the moment till i can collect enough dosh for a new Zisco head...so work continues... rebuild DONE...has this pic shot shortly after wards... next in the plan was to start to LOONGGG and arduous task of running the motor in...i hate this because this is always something that takes me forever as this car is not a daily driver and its almost never used....believe it or not i would spend almost the next 12 months slowly racking up the mileage on the street and dyno (whenever i could).... wickedep
some pics taken at a meet short while after... ok..back to work..doing more run-in on the dyno... while the mileage is creeping up slowly...i bought this bad boy from the boys at Zisco ....big thanks to them for accommodating me... wickedep
a few more pics from a recent cruise.. OK...fast forward to NOW....its 2013, August...running in done...but not yet tuned. decided to build a new Godzilla top mount manifold for the car....so here's what been done to the car in the last 2-3 weeks or so... gorgeous new s/s manifold and 3" side exit for street use...the fmic hot pipe is half the length now. finally i can get rid of that horrid OEM radiator expansion bottle. manage to machine out the nect/cap for the new alloy bottle and also convert the billet fuel rail into dual feed.. now for the race exhaust...any guesses as to where its commin from.. YEAP...you guess it... so this is where we are now.... Edited August 9, 2013 by wickedep
