StarletSr? Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 I think we went for it wasnthttp://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/70514-do-all-standard-cast-iron-manis-have-code-between-1st-and-2nd-runner/?fromsearch=1 Quote
shorty Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 No restrictor in third runner though?? Quote
StarletSr? Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 I have to admit it does look like one so unsure lok Quote
1990timeismoney Posted September 24, 2013 Author Posted September 24, 2013 I just brought it and wasn't sure there doesn't seem to be any numbers on it and the cross in the turbo side is different to standard Quote
StarletSr? Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Nice when you get it put more photos up Quote
bucketep91 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Whats the big deal with jam manifolds anyway? Its essentially just a ported oem manifold Quote
Gainzy Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 I don't think it is, the big deal is the reliability with the spool time and they can run the bigger turbo's, the runners are wider and all equal length's compared to stock jam knew what the were doing, if it was a case of just porting stock they would of just did that but the design is different in its own way... H_D Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Whats the big deal with jam manifolds anyway? Its essentially just a ported oem manifold Its not a ported oem manifild. They have different casting marks on them compared to the oem manifold so they are essentially casted from a differnt mould. They retain the stock look and have non of the restrictions. Quote
bucketep91 Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 So does a ported oem one though ) Quote
daniel_g Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 I threw one in the bin. Haha, just kidding. Quote
H_D Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 The jam manis also have different casting where the studs screw in to the collector Quote
Vincent-ep91 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 thats a jam manifold... end of story Quote
1990timeismoney Posted September 26, 2013 Author Posted September 26, 2013 So its a jam manifold Quote
Gainzy Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Am still going with stock the ports just don't look thick enough to me put it up against another mani that's when you will know for sure! Quote
Addymk2 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 The manifold ports don't need to be thick though; they just need to be matched to the head ports. If they're bigger than the head ports it can actually slow down exhaust flow. Just a thought Quote
AdamB Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 they just need to be matched to the head ports. If they're bigger than the head ports it can actually slow down exhaust flow. Just a thought That's the worst thing to do on a turbo motor, but that's a whole different topic. I thought the cross section on the collector sat flush with the flange face on the jam mani's. Can't quite tell if it is flush from that pic though. Quote

That's what I meant, I can't see a company like JAM knocking out a manifold with huge ports which will essentially kill off performance. Doesn't look OEM, the dip for the middle runners doesn't look as deep as my old OEM manifold. Quote
1990timeismoney Posted September 26, 2013 Author Posted September 26, 2013 Keep an eye out for this manifold I brought it on ebay recived a message from the seller saying its now been stolen Quote
Glanza-Ben Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 you won it for 99p he proberly fort it he would get more and now cba to sell it that cheap Quote
1990timeismoney Posted September 26, 2013 Author Posted September 26, 2013 Yeah won it for 99p plus postage Quote
StarletSr? Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 He sent me that message to and I didnt even buy anything from him lol Quote
Addymk2 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 If he puts it back up to sale report him to eBay just for the fuck about factor lol Quote
Gainzy Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Right here we go the jam mani is on the right look at the thickess difference in the tubes more exspansion for the gas flow and the thicker ports...much thicker so no matter how much you port the stock it's never going to flow better, the guy probably thinks its a jam mani so he has taken it off ebay lol if anybody else says the jam mani is just a ported stock one more time am gunna kick off lol Quote
