Yoshimitsu666
Bought a "Fisco plug and play ecu" from here. In terms of appearance, the box is completely identical to the standard ecu, except for a crude "Fisco" sticker that has been applied OVER the standard Toyota markings. I fitted it and have noticed that there is no increase in performance and the rev limiter is identical to the standard ecu. I'm guessing I have been ripped off? M7WSY
Best posting a photo mate for guys to see it
_shaun_
the easiest way todo it is take the cover off and look inside there should be a daughter board attached. best todo it in a dark place tho as some were fitted with uv sensative chips
5e colin
the limiter should be raised indeed for a p&p dont sound good to me and as shaun says they should have a 2nd board inside
fremyjay
Should look like this inside[/url
Glanza-Ben
It's proberly why it was up so cheap
JamesD89
One of these was Ecu's sold by Toyoloog and this one came up for sale not long after iirc Dunno if they are linked, but both sellers were from Holland. Hope this was not the reason for the quick resale.
Yoshimitsu666
Sounds very fishy and yes this did come from Holland. I shall upload pics later after work. There's also no seals intact or anything of that nature.
mikey4410
Hmm if the limiter is the same then straight away thats not how an aftermarket ecu works.we all know they rev to 8,000 and NOT the stock 7,
Gainzy
Open it up, I nearly bought that aswell
Yoshimitsu666
Opened her up. It actually has a small sister board, but then how can the limiter be at the same level as my standard ECU? Could the sister board itself be faulty? Previous owner has now admitted to having had the unit open, which i'm led to believe can cause irreparable damage.
richardc9052
It can if the uv resistant tape is removed from the chip and it's then exposed to sunlight. I've had a p+p open before to check chip for what it was mapped for/to with no I'll effects.. As have many others. It certainly hasnt stopped the daughter board from working as if it had the ecu wouldn't work at all. Is there any info on Fisco ecu's in general? Can you put some pictures up of yours with the cover off? (No flash)
Addymk2
Try turning your boost up to a bar mate. If you hit fuel cut then...All the Jap ECUs are programmed differently. Or seeing if it hits the 110mph limiter.
Gainzy
Fisco are quite rare to find info on I had a good look once, as above turn the boost level up I don't believe in the whole open case ecu chip destruction av had them open in the past Edited September 11, 2014 by Gainzy
Yoshimitsu666
Thought id flop these up to show you guys eventually. Seems legit, just can't understand why the rev limiter isn't different. As someone said they're all different and perhaps this Fisco ecu doesn't effect the rev limiter. I'll try and get some dyno time and do some further testing.
5e colin
ya man thats very strange if the limiter is only at stock i doubt a bigger turbo can be used on this ecu
Gainzy
What does it boost like? Over 0.8? I would imagine if your running an unported stock manifold that would restrict revs abit?
Glanza-Ben
Turn the boost up to one bar amd test it, if it hits fuel cut then the ecu must be faulty
richardc9052
It can't be faulty.. It wouldn't use the standard settings if something was up it just wouldn't run or would run shite
daniel_g
It was probably made / mapped to suit a fairly stock CT9 setup with a few bolt ons, and didnt need the rev limiter touched, as a CT9 wont make power near the redline its pointless to increase it
matthew ep91
I now own this ecu . On my glanza it did raise the limiter to around 8k. And i now run 1bar with no fuel cut like i used too. Made a big differnce overall
