Bluebear
As sad as it sounds, about one or two weekends a month I'm covered in muck and grime and doing work on (read: beating the shit out of) preserved diesel and steam locomotives over in Preston. Workshop volunteer at Ribble Steam Railway Not done much with the kettles yet, those are the remit of the old boys (and I still have trouble getting to grips with how they work), so mostly my legs are sticking out of the engine bay of a diesel shunter. Also done work on rolling stock and the like, whatever needs a hand really.Good fun, and surprised at the fact theres more than a few of a similar age to me. shorty
^^Yep cycle. Is great to get fit. And is so many different types of riding you can do. Plus only expense really is a good bike and a good helmet. Apart from the odd service items theres not much to pay out for.
aaddzz123
Why don't you learn to play an instrument... Guitar passed many bored hours by for me (as you know lol). I'd have a piano if I had anywhere to keep one.

I think cycling is fun !Why don't you learn to play an instrument... Guitar passed many bored hours by for me (as you know lol). I'd have a piano if I had anywhere to keep one.I get too stressed lol.. I'd like to play violin - looks fun!
aaddzz123
I had a violin and genuinely started to pick it up a bit lol. Could play a few bits. Sold it eventually when I was skint lol! Pretty hard to learn especially if I didn't have the natural movement from playing guitar for years. Have to be much more precise with where and how you place your fingers as every mm difference on the neck/strings will make it sound different as it doesn't have frets like a guitar... Was fun though.
JoJo_228
I haven't got a chance in hell then! Xylophone maybe.
