I've asked Charlie to keep me posted on progress as the sound is coming from lower cambelt side of the engine. The cambelt kit is also new, so sump is coming off next to confirm the worst. RobSR Posted July 4, 2015 Share Posted July 4, 2015 As mentioned was over there the other night, does sound like its bottom end related after removing other parts it could of been to eliminate it unfortunately. Like said, take it out and send everything to a machine shop with new piston's as the old ones were scored quite badly. Got the engine back out again at the weekend And made a phone call to Rob Barnard who built Abbots engine and some engines for the legendary Dave Burwash! 5T4R7ET N/A Posted July 12, 2015 Share Posted July 12, 2015 did you prime the engine before starting? it takes a good while turning over before the engine is ready to start ( best way is to remove efi fuse) just make sure you do it on the new one.
