  2. sorted this now, kick-down mode was permanently on and as im running engine in never went over 3500rpm for it to change
  3. hello, my automatic is stuck in what feels like 1st gear. ive tried to swap between L, 2 & D out on the road yet the gears do not change. getting pretty annoying poodling along at 15mph @ 3000rpm without the change. ive had the torque converter off and filled in with dexron II fluid. i also had to change the throttle cable at one point but it opens fully etc. any ideas?
  4. been flat out with my Sera, this year is EP82 dedicated! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuetqvKhZsc
  5. so as in the title my auto gearbox throttle cable is leaking ATF. i have tightened the cable bracket yet it is pouring out at a massive rate and because its not sealed properly the fluid that was in it hasnt been getting to the torque converter. i have literally no drive, i can poodle along at 15mph @ 3000rpm but need a solution. am i best to drain it, clean it and use a silicone/gasket sealer on it? cheers
  6. happy days cause got 20L of the stuff for £40. is it worth using the lucas oil stabiliser at any point when running in?
  7. ive got some 1040 semi synthetic oil kicking about, is this ok to run new rings and bearings in etc?
  8. yeh ceramic a bit too expensive for me now, think ill just leave as is then. cheers
  9. saw this on a Scooby forum, is this correct? "lt retains heat in the exhaust and hot gases move faster than cold ones therfore the exhuast can work more effectively. Also keeps heat out of the engine bay, reduces under bonnet temps which in turn reduces heat soak into other components, steering rack etc. Especially if you have an under bonet mounted air filter keeps intake temps lower too." is it worth doing downpipe and exhaust or are best results seen on mani?
  10. was hoping to have the bearings arriving the same time the crank does otherwsie im looking at another couple weeks...
  11. no i asked this and he said all i needed to know was that i was to order 0.25 big/mains
  12. right chaps, my crank has been repaired (by Park Engineering - thanks funnyonion) and ive been told I need: mains 0.25 Big Ends 0.25 Thrusts std Does anyone have the genuine Toyota numbers handy for these sizes? cheers
  13. Right so I've sent it off. After speaking with the guy he asked if he wanted me to price up bearings for the crank; is it best to pay for the service for the sake of getting the correct size etc or just tell them no and get myself?
  14. i am going to get all new; main, big and thrust. just need to wait for the work to be done on the crank then ill know what size i need to get.
  15. i would just do the stage 1 mate; mani, decat, air filter, magnecor leads & decent plugs - this will give you a decent increase and keep your fuel usage reasonable. after that (or when you get bored) then think about further mods, td04 etc....
  16. when people say Toyota stock them is that just a case of going to my local dealer and ordering them or is there a national number to call etc? that bearing kit is super cheap at £65! thinking its best just to send it off and get it looked at, just need someone south with a quick turn around time. ive read a few of your 2's conversations before, will have a good read whilst my cranks getting sorted. thanks for all the input all, much appreciated
  17. Yuh agreed but who sticks genuine stuff?
