  1. ive read that the wideband bung should be welded 1 meter from the turbo, does anyone have advise on where the best place is for space and not fouling the gear selector... pic maybe? cheers

    Got a 5efhe auto ecu going, just needs 1 or 2 wires played with to work manual. Plenty info on here for doing so
  4. no need to forge when you have a 5efhe take it you dont consider td04 a big turbo?
  5. over 100k look for: - valve stems - piston rings - turbo fatigue - timing belts already been covered
  6. yeh thats a good point didnt think of that, i was only taking into account the extra height of the FHE pistons, does anyone even do anything over a 2mm gasket? will be interesting lag wise to see how the higher compression works, colin has done this before so i have high hopes
  7. yuh but the NA pistons have an extra 2mm on them hence the 2mm HG so with a 1.9mm it would be raising the compression as its thinner then required??

  12. am i able to do a compression test with just the cylinder head on the block - no cams, sump, oil filter etc?
  13. all sorted, had the con rod caps wrong way round, prob put about 50k miles on my new bearings now. ah well its a learning curve for my 5e build

  15. As in the title just fitted new rings and big end bearings. Used plastigauge and got the following: Piston 1 - 0.048 P2 - 0.048 P3 - 0.035 P4 - 0.038 Torqued bolts up 20 and then 40nm is ok turning on pistons 2+3, gets stiffer on 4 and then jammed on 1.
