A bit of slow progress as I was away from the car for a few weeks. I’ve now fitted a new hand brake cable, drilled and re tapped the support brackets and under sealed to the spare wheel well. I spent hours and and hours cleaning everything up and sealing but it’s finally getting there.

It’s a shame Toyota didn’t put better engines in a lot of things like the SR- think we all agree it should have had at least a 5e. they never did that Corolla with that engine on the road unfortunately. I’ve got a thing for touring cars especially the super touring era. Always think about building some old Toyota with a 3sge beams or something

As you can see, the plates have lifted the ARB out of contact. It also avoids the wishbones too. The thickness is roughly the same as the anti lift kit spacer. I also got hold of some new longer M-8 bolts from work. I've double and triple checked all of the recent work I’ve done, everything is nice and tight so I’m looking forward to driving it tomorrow.

Since fitting the whiteline anti lift kit with the whiteline front ARB the ARB has been fouling on the underside of the car. I find this crazy considering they are from the same manufacturer but they are great quality so I decided to make some spacer plates.

Just incase it’s not been covered, there is a brass locking tab that folds over the inner rod nut, the tabs will need tapping back out of the way in order to get the removal tool on.

Finally got the tie rods changed today. Took me ages to find the inners and in the end ECP actually came to the rescue. I also managed to get hold of some new boots too. The old ball joints were totally gone and both rods were seized together solid.

I'm also using Fuchs Titan 5w-40 so I might switch to 10w-30 as the engine is completely stock.

Cheers mate, i've thoroughly checked for other leaks a number of times and all seems good. I've got an RW-D catch can set up and sealed the rocker at the time of fitting that. The front crank seal was done recently when I did the timing kit too. The first time I re-sealed the sump only the gearbox side was weeping. Since doing it again, both ends are leaking. I just don't rate the sealant which is odd as TD use it all the time and recommended it. They are a bit of a pig to seal though and I did have a friend help me put the sump on last time so I could make sure it went on evenly without

Just thinking if my latest attempt to seal the sump doesn’t work then maybe I look at my options as it may be warped. Hoping it’s just the sealant though

Hi all, what sump sealant have people used? I'm having trouble with a leaky sump. I've resealed it twice- both times I've completely removed all sealant and made sure all surfaces are clean. Neither crank seals are leaking, it's definitely the sump seal.

Hi, I've got a stock actuator you can have for free. I honestly wouldn't bother with the stock actuator or manifold though.

Shit the bed mate fair play to you. If you don't save her she will end up for parts like most others.

Thanks v much, wish there was more progress but as usual I’m fitting it in around work and the car is in temp storage while the other area gets cleared. Once she’s back in there I can crack on with the tie rods and then fit the body panels properly. After that I’ll underseal the other half of the car ready for the spring when hopefully it will be back on the road.
