    Sounds like it could be stem seals or worn valve guides. Under high vaccum it can pull a bit if oil through. I had it once on a very steep hill i coasted down, then a puff of smoke. Has never happened again. Valve guides seem to be a thing thats ignored when forging
  2. As long as there is no play etc there is very little chance it will fail MOT over here.

    I agree, its a good engine and makes sense in some cars, just not a starlet. EG swap etc would make sense and probably be easier. Starlet chassis will never be as good as a hondas, as much as its painful to say

    I agree, don't get why you remove and engine from a much better chassis and put it a not so good chassis
  5. Avoid starting car with clutch down and leaving in gear at traffic lights
  6. If no one takes the whole greddy, id be interested in just buying the controller without valve
  7. Most will be made to oe quality anyway
  8. Shouldn't matter wHat turbo its for really, depends on downpipe. Most turbo kits are fabbed so the downpipe lines up with the common exhaust location
  9. Its the air being 'chopped up' by the blades. Maybe shortly it may stall or slow down, there will always be some drive

    I guess that will be a narrowband not a wideband afr gauge. Not much point int them
  11. Doesn't it allow the ecu to control idle etc so saves on all the hassle when going standalone

  15. Cant imagine the head lifting under a bar of boost anyway. If you are losing coolant i would think its an issue somewhere
  16. I'd love to know the secret behind getting them to work. Still, why would you want your rear wheels to lock up? Plus drums do better handbrakes
  17. Tried a turbosmart? Alot smaller than tials. Have also seen external gates welded to the side of turbos!

  19. Wouldn't worry too much, they are likely to move when engine runs anyway
