  1. Yeah wiring is a bit of a bitch tbh, luckily i have a good mate who's a sparky 2nd time round it was soo much easier hardly cut any of it up just removed the auto box and aircon wiring ran everything to roughly where it needed to be cut the dozen or so wires that needed connecting and double checked it was all plugged in and test fired it and it ran surprisingly lol Then cut the plastic covering off, then starting at the furthest away from the ecu, individually removed each sensor plug and wiring and pulled it right back to the bulk head and then neatly laid it back in place taping it up as i went until it was all neat and then removed it gave it to my sparky mate who took it to work and covered it in cowling in his free time at work and thats how it sits today 2 years later
  2. Sky, adrian flux, im with admiral on a multicar. I think direct line allows the second driver to build ncb aswel so might be worth a shot. Otherwise try Elephant Confused.com Compare the market etc Also get the cheapest prices from the top few companies and ring them up. Everytime i have I've knocked off upto £100 off the online quote
  3. + speedo error = super accurate results
  4. Yeah i like the idea of it but theres so much that can change it. Best way to find out its at a speed run day they sometimes have 0-60 timing stuff
  5. If you can deal with a low sump then you can mount it under the chassis rail. But then you would have to have a 4-2-1 exhaust mani as my hks 4-1 is now lower than my sump lol
  6. Mines apparently 5.77 secs. But surely power delivery torque and gearing would all vary this? Lol
  7. Mates thrust bearing destroyed itself at 60k ended up in like 20 bits lol but other than that the normal St has been good the other never gets driven, and Comfy yes i would agree until you put coilovers on then id rather be in my starlet tbh
  8. If you plan on n/a go with an engine that has potential to start with or atleast a version of that engine that has a performance version. 4afe-4age/ze 20v etc 3sfe 3sge/te beams or 5sge build Zz series 2zzge 2zzgze 1.8vvt-li (supercharged one) or boost a 1zzfe 1.8 vvt-i 5e's are ok and im sure you could get 130-50hp with the right bits but trying to find tuning bits past that would be hard and expensive for the n/a route. Where as the 4age 20v starts at 160ish mines 175 (give or take dyno readings) with intake exhaust and flywheel, minus aircon and power steering. And imo other than the lack of p/s theres nothing stopping mine from being a daily driver. So stick a mr2 speed variable elleccy p/s pump on it and you have a winner ;) So doing the same to a beams 3sge or 2zzge would make for a good reliable fast car. Will just cost more, but thats the price for being different!
  9. 2 of my mates have got the st and st500 fezzies and if any body has told you starlets have a lively rear end think again. They will spin out in the blink of an eye! Plus both of them are the 2L and they are pretty gutless i dread to think what the 1.6 is like lol

  12. A friend of mine has just got herself a 96 spec V and the hazards aren't working, I've gave here a switch to try n the fuse is ok so next thing is the relay. Now im at work atm and i have a uk soec (not sure if theres a difference) but could one of you kind people tell me where the relay is for the hazards please?
  13. Will check bank tonight and let you know, but worst case i will have to wait until thursday for payday
  14. That would still be epic but i have to agree, If someone put a k20/24 in a starlet it would be savage, even more so if it was in a ep70 fully stripped n lsd'd up! Would be absolutely rediculous
  15. I've done a quite basic write up on it here. One day ill get some faily detailed pictures of what and how we made the mounts etc, but for now im happy to help any way i can dude />http://www.ukstarletowners.com/index.php?showtopic=6907&st=45#entry632910
  16. *2zzge but yeah all can be done. Was even an old member was considering a camry v6 swap lol
  17. It is doable without but you have to lower the engine right down then the sumps really low, my 4age has been in for 4 years now and its still fine. Been on track and the drag strip etc
  18. Dont think so, the spokes on enkies seem quite wide compared to mine!
  19. They look like a deep dish version of my wheels ...
  20. You'd be better off in a volvo
  21. Yea i do, i actually started with one, was a flat bar welded to the rear mount, but it turned out so awkward to mount the front gearbox mount that i eventually cut it off. An if you plan on running a civic style rad you wont be able to run the front mount unless you are will to cover the stock lower rad pipe and move it closer to the passenger side. I will get some pics when im swapping my tank over and pm you Ps sorry for the thread hi-jack
  22. You are going to need to keep your old mount for the 4age swap buddy, just needs a poly bush in it ;)

    Paint jobs

I just painted a bonnet with a paint brush
  24. Yea i see i would expect that as i really have to force my engine back to get it too meet the mount. But im pretty sure your rear mount is the issue i know ep91's had steel mounts but not sure about 82's but thought they were interchangable. This might be your issue?
