7age isn't worth the hassle from what I've gathered less revability of the 4age with slight torque gains, plus to do it propperly you need a porsche 922 cambelt or something like that and that puts the cam gears out slightly so then pulleys are needed. then an ecu is needed. stick a 20v bt 4age in it and have a 160hp and 120lbft ready and waiting with out any of the other hassles

im so glad someone else has finally mentioned this whole VAG reliablity thing. from my own experience i think there a pile of sh*t a good 6-8 of my friend own or have owned VAG's and they've been nothing but trouble. egr valves, thermostats and there housings, head gaskets, water pipes perishing, eating through brakes, wheel bearings, aircon pumps the list is endless. and not a single one of the cars is older than 8 years old and has less miles than my 1.4 corolla and almost all of them have spent more on repairing their cars than i did buying and keeping it going for the last 2 1/2 years. t

Im looking into doing this, if its NI its fine insure it and just bring in back and for £55 approx u can reregister it in england, but if its from the rep of ire then its gota be propperly imported and SVA'd etc which I've no idea how to go about it. A load of info on this can be found on the direct.gov website ;)

Not a 7afe no, the newer 2zzge engine from the 190hp gen 7 celica has been put in one tho. I could fit a 7afe in mine now if I wanted to as I have a 4age in it, and since its an 'a' series it should now bolt in. I dont see what you would achieve from a 7afe tho there what 130-40hp?? just 4efte it and you would have that power alot easier and cheaper

EP91 4AGE engine swap discusion
morgey replied to Big_T-SR's topic in Alternative Engine Discussions
I know this is an old thread but id thought id shed some light on the whole 4age thing, so people know whats involved in doing a conversion like this. Before you start, make sure you deffinately want to do this, once started theres no going back to a 4e, well not easily anyway. you will be removing your drivers engine mount and maybe even the passengers one and the battery tray (I did) Willing to cut your chassis rail on the passenger side as a minimum, if you want to keep P/S A/C you will also need to cut the drivers one! 1st thing is dont put a time limit on this swap, take your time tes -
Three of my friends have already crashed their cars this winter!! one not his fault but wrote off his mint low milage ep3 none the less!! This was before it got icey, so if you are driving about just slow down and leave more space between cars its colder and less grippy now!! And remember its not necessarly guna be you causing an acciedent but you can help yaself from getting invovled:)

Basically I've been looking at buying a corolla levin/trueno bzr, now theres not many in england yet a quick look on donedeal I can find a fair few, and a bit cheaper than in england aswel So thinking about a road trip to Ireland for a new car but want to get any info I can I was wondering has anybody got any experience in bringing cars over? Or exporting them? Whats the cost of re-registering it in england? How much is the ferry for a car? Will I have to retax it in england onces its reregistered? Whats the deal with the NCT vs MOT will I just start getting it MOT'd when the NCT runs ou

Ahh it wont fit mine as its uk spec and my centre brake light will be in the way, be a shame to cut up a mint shelf! Never mind buh, GLWTS tho

http://www.wickedstyling.com/index.php?mai...398_428_450_646 Bottom one £34 will make you car a little bit more rattley on idle and when pulling off as its a harder mount than factory, but engine feels more resposive as theres.less movement

So after nearly 5 years of ownership 4 engines 3 suspension setups 3 drivers seats and various other bits, countless hours however many £1000's spent I've finally got my car so a state where every time I get in it, and drive it it gives me one massive smile and huge amounts of confidence in the car. Its pretty much the car I've always wanted it to be. Then earlier I went to toyota for a few bits, including a new plug for my fan switch. So im trying to describe the part I need and as I dont have the chassis number I ask them to habe a look under the bonnet.... 30 secs later booooom 5 toyota

I brought a gt one for mine and all I needed was the turbo brake lines, as it came with the hand brake cables, it was a direct bolt on fit The only thing I will say is the gt axle is deffinately narrower than a uk spec ep91 rear axle. I have heard that the glanza axle is 20mm wider than the gt axle, but I can't confirm this All it means is you will end up having inset rear wheels but some spacers can fix that!

None of mine are on there but can find a few of my mates cars at their places of work, altho they either dont work there or have sold them cars haha
