Item For Sale: Deep Dish Steering Wheel (OMP) Item Condition & Description: Not the best. Personally I think this is hideous and it's a struggle to reach the indicator stalks with this wheel. Has discolouring around the wheel. I haven't attempted to clean this up. This came off my EP82 which is full of bodge jobs so I CAN'T GUARANTEE THIS IS GENUINE! There are a lot of FAKE ones about and this is no doubt another one of those fake ones. However my car did have a pride and joy owner a few years ago so it's still possible to be genuine. I'll sell it on the assumption it's fake then you can figure it out later. The horn button worked when I drove the car. But then my car broke down and hasn't been driven since getting it home after buying it. So that was months and months ago. No reason for it to fail. It was soldered on by the previous owner. Nice job of it too. The OMP paint starting to crack a little and general discolouring around the wheel. MAY look aright with a bit of elbow grease. This is all boxed up ready to go Price: £20 Pictures: Payment & Shipping Details: Paypal

Trying to dismantle my engine and need to remove the cam that's attached to the belt. But I guess I'm right in saying I need to remove the cog itself before I can go any further. So does anyone have a link to a decent cam holding tool that I can use to undo and then torque back up the nut?

TDO4 229.1 BHP White MK1 TOM'S Kitted Glow Panel GT (Third Car)
Calum122 replied to Lukee's topic in EP80/EP82 Progress Blogs
Yeah there are plenty now. But one day there won't be. It always seems like people forget that they won't ever make these again. When all else fails you can patch metal back up. -

Wow dude not having much luck with this car are you. I know that the original engine looks bad, but you have that welded back together mate. I'd never buy a used engine and expect it to work. It is well worth your time just having yours rebuilt. Then at least you know for a fact it's a brand new engine. You don't even have to go forged mate. And you seem pretty knowledgeable so with the engine out you could drop that off at a garage and say rebuild it and it would have been cheaper than 900 quid. PayPal is really good and easy to get money back from them. Keep at it and if you're having more problems with dodgy engines, then seriously go and have one of them rebuilt. So long as you have the metal chunks that flew off you could have a specialist weld it back together. -
Very nice build. I love the fact you've gone retro on this one. Seeing as you're into Optional extras I have the underseat optional extra Amplifier for sale in the for sale section. Well worth checking out especially as you're collecting OEM audio parts. Also comes with OEM tweeters with the plugs still intact.

Nice. Yeah makes sense. Why didn't you save the Glanza, they seem to command more money than the GT's

Nice build. I like the engine build but what happened? Why didn't you use it? Was it because of that damage?

Manual gearbox and shafts wanted
Calum122 replied to Danz_ep95's topic in 4WD Starlet Knowledge Base
All of these things. Together are complicated. But broken down.... They could be scanned using a 3d scanner. And blue prints made and an engineering shop could manufacture up the individual pins. I know chaps that have made their own gear pinions for their home made cnc lathes. Going from the principle that you have something to go by then I reckon there are other ways. yes expensive but when there simply isn't any about what can you do! -

Yeah I know. I was saying that that is like a dream car, the sort of car I would absolutely treasure. Especially when it has that sentimental element too. I realise now that that was slightly misleading. -
ep82 heater, very little heat coming out Help
Calum122 replied to fiddlersport's topic in Interior & ICE
Surely there is not a lot it can actually be. The engine gets hot, the thermostat opens. The water flows through the heater matrix. The fans take the heat away, the cabin gets warm. So surely it'sa one of those factors that has gone wrong. The temperature gauge tells you the water is hot. The thermostat opening stops the engine from excessively over heating, below halfway the needle tends to sit. And you should clearly hear the fans. The only non obvious one will be the heater matrix has a blockage. Could try some radiator flush -

Must be a way of modifying it to use the original box or the 4wd splitter and but use the manual part of the normal engine. As said I'm far from a mechanic and have no experience or concept of the auto setup. But there just has to be a way of making it work. I mean that said, I know autos are crap I would never have one, but really? Is it that bad to have an Auto 4wd starlet? I mean personally 130 bhp is too little for 4wd but even then. -

Was a smart Glanza anyhow. Definitely puts my car to shame But yeah definitely next summer should have a little Starlet get together at the cruise. Just park away from the idiots doing wheelies on peds and what not though.... -

Yeah but why would you want the ep*5 box then. Surely just use the normal one. Or does the 4wd not fit a normal box? -

Aww? Why'd you strip it? I know you got the car cheap and actually you make a lot of money in parts but it looks sweet for the money -

Calum122 replied to Danz_ep95's topic in 4WD Starlet Knowledge Base
To be honest I don't even know what is involved. I've never looked at how an auto actually works. Presumably though it would be easier to just fabricate a manual engine into the car? -

Lmao Sorry but you're butchering a glanza? I wish I had that much money. Okay just read it again I thought you meant break as in strip the parts for money. What happened?
