I think the ultimate had another plug on it. I think there's an adapter you con buy to wire in to go from a blue to an ultimate
  3. Im running 150bhp in my gt and i have adl discs on the front with mintex 1144 pads and stock rears. Ive had my rear brakes in bits and replaced a dodgy piston and all the sliders have been out and greased up so the calipers are working well. The front have been replaced at some point too. I use the car daily and i think its a decent setup which doesnt cost much.
  4. It looked good at JAE i didnt realise how much work had gone into it good work! I havent seen another one of these for a good while now.
  5. Sachas quality and prices cannot be beaten!
  6. this should be helpful for info. http://www.cuscousainc.com/downloads/dl/file/id/190/cusco_lsd_guide.pdf my mates gt has a plated cusco diff its very noisey at slow speeds and tight corners, i wouldnt like it if it was my daily car tbh but it depends what you use the car for i guess. Maybe his could do with being bedded in again it might improve it a bit i dont know.
  7. Just done one for mine, it didnt take long!

    Clunk from Brakes

My girlfriend ep3 was getting a clunking from the front brakes now and again. When I had a look one of the pistons was badly corroded and rotten inside the caliper. I ended up replacing both calipers. Best thing to do is get them off for a look.
  9. yay!
  10. Nice one on the award mate! Good to see you again at JAE.

    JAE newbie

Ive never been before but im thinking about coming and camping with the gf and a 9 year old. Will they be bored do you think? the JAE website doesnt seem to be selling it.
  17. One thing I've learnt from working on the gt4 is that there's alot of metal in them and very over engineered and strong. The fire mostly stuck to the old engine really.
  18. cheers mate yeah money pits these things parts are very expensive. heres it running. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NAS8OB9G54
  19. a fire engine eventually got it out! both were believed to be jam units and was even brand new never fitted and in a jam box from japan. they do look different to stock ones slightly. Strange though. I just got 2 big shiney parcels for the starlet
  20. I was in the car when it went up! scary stuff!
  21. The gt4 is a long long storey mate! Its Pickey009 old car which he built it then went to a mate of his and then the engine failed. it sat for a few years then i bought it. Then it set on fire and almost took out my whole garage and has very close to the tank going up. it was a fire engine job. heres the car on its way to me loaded up very carefully! then back in my garage and 2 days later almost everything from the windscreen forward was blown up, melted destroyed ect. Then the rebuild started, i big shout to my mate stee who painted the front end of the car, i prepped it but he didnt even want anything for it. i think he felt sorry for me. I also did the back end Getting to this point was the worst work i have done on a car probably, weeks of prep work went into with with a grinder wire wheels, die grinder ect it took ages, it got rust treat ment in the odd places, then epoxy primer tinted body colour, then all seam seealed with Upol seam sealer, then Upol gravitex stone chip then more epoxy primer and then 2k body colour on top which is what it looks like now underneath. All the back end is rebuilt with polly bushes which is alot on a gt4, all powder caoted, tank refurbished, new fuel and copper nickel brake lines with 316 stainlesss union nuts ect basically how it sits now. up and running again just some bits and bobs to do before the mot.
  22. Cheers dale it's a nice colour. Is strange there's so few grey starlets. I don't mind the auto tbh. It does seem a little slower in the lower gears but goes well after that. Is the ct12 the tongs hybrid with td04 internals? What boost you running has it been dynoed?
  23. get that boot tidied and the carpet through the washer! Nice braces!
  24. Since the last dyno day at TD where the car made 125 bhp i have been wanting to run more boost than the .5 it was running. I did have a brand new actuator which i believed was a jam racing part. I then bought another Jam racing actuator but it was just the same and wouldnt boost past .5 - .6 with the hybrid . I changed a few things round looking for boost leaks but never got anywhere. In the end i fitted a brand new TMD adjustable actuator i had and after lots of messing about the car now boosts up to .8 bar and no hitting fuel cut. I also T'd in the factory high low boost circuit so that still works. I also fitted an Apexi air filter as the old one was crap and didnt fit well. I also replaced 2 ht leads which i never got round to as a previous owner had cable tied them on as the clips were missing. The car seemed to be running and going better now. A local dyno day a mate organsied popped up on facebook last week so i thought it would be worthwhile putting it on to see how it was going. The car didnt want to stay in gear for the run so it had to be dyno'd by selecting second with the shifter, i dont know what people norally do when they dyno these. the result Not bad i guess for an auto. Its a little rich but i have this to sort that out. Dyno vid http://vid20.photobucket.com/albums/b223/westcoastbean/Starlet%20stuff/20150829_121623_zpsgwdepbbg.mp4 ive also got my gt4 running and its made it out the garage! and my mate carl came round in his gt which made 338bhp at the dyno day. Also fitted some mintec 1144 front pads and new adl discs. One of the sliders was a bit seized too so i had them all out and cleaned and greased them up. These were good prices from ebay pads were £61.95 and discs were £67.88 delivered the pads part number is MDB1251 M1144 MINTEX Brake Pad Set disc brake front ADL blue print discs are ADT343136 Good quality parts and low prices! I painted the centres with high temp paint to help stop them rusting. They were well past it!
  25. thanks guys yeah its the type with the pin i would like and a clip goes on the end. Im sure theres some knocking about somewhere.
