What boost gauges are cheap to buy but still accurate? Reviews don't say anything good for the Autogauge ones... Must be in PSI and preferably black (no gay chrome shit lol).
-
Tuning box turned up today so got it fitted, not had a chance to properly tweak the settings but it's made a good difference, well worth £45! Bucket loads of torque and pulls more up higher in the rev range than it did before. Just got to wait til my decat arrives then turn the boost up to 19 psi.

Nice one Joz, hadn't heard of the TF035 before. And I'm not sure on the limits of the VP37 pump, but should be able to get a bit more than 150bhp with some uprated injectors. Just had a peek on ebay and there are quite a few TF035's on there from Mitsubishi L200's/Shoguns/Pajeros.

Found these specs for the TD04L-13G, which I assume is the smallest one? Compressor Inducer: 41.5 mm Exducer: 56 mm Turbine Inducer: 47 Exducer:41.3 Just for reference, here are the specs for the CT9: Compressor Inducer: 34mm Exducer: 48mm Turbine Inducer: 46mm Exducer: 36mm And now the GT15, which is what comes on the Rover L series diesel as standard, and is what I want to upgrade. Funnily enough it has very similar specs to the CT9 apart from the CT9 has a slightly larger turbine side. Compressor Inducer: 34.7mm Exducer: 49.07mm Turbine: Inducer: 41.5mm Exducer: 33.99mm So look

Do you have any fueling or ECU mods?

Apparently a small TD04 might be a decent turbo to use on my diesel, as the standard one (GT1549) is tiny and only good for a max of 140ish bhp (tiny turbine gives high EMP). So I'd like to know what the smallest size TD04 is and some A/R trim sizes as I suspect it will be too big but TD04s are quite common on here so I thought someone might give me some numbers.

£45 from someone on MG-Rover.org, it's a TU1 tuning box which are now discontinued but occasionally come up for sale.
-
What engine? You'd be surprised, the diesels are pretty nippy.
-
Little update on this, I've ordered a decat and tuning box for it so with those fitted and the boost turned up to 19 psi it should be around 130bhp. They're 100bhp standard so a good increase for less than £100. Have also fitted some nice MG ZR seats for £50, bargain. Next on the cards is a FMIC, air filter and backbox, MG ZR suspension, big brakes (282mm) and maybe a bigger turbo!
-
Hope your engine goes well this time mate, you've waited long enough for it. Will have to check out the Jap Fest pics. And I might consider a GT... hmmm lol

Was told about those TOA meets from civiclife.net a while ago, must get up to one one day. Lol who got banned? And yeah insurance is a piss take, it's nearly £250 a month for the Rover.
-
The Rover is pretty good tbf I'm surprised with it and I'm well into diesel's now, if I wanted to could get it up from 100 to 130bhp for less than £100 (obviously not as good as a standard GT/Glanza because of the weight etc...) but it's pretty nippy for what it is and really nice to drive, the only thing I've done so far is put some MG ZR seats in it, my insurance renewal is in march so I'm saving as much as possible until then and then decide what to do wether I get a new car. How come you had to sell the Glanza mate? Got a GT now though I see. The usual Starlet crowd still around

Not been on UKSC for a while so thought I'd pop in and say hi Was lurking about the other week and read about Sparky's engine much else going on?
-
Yeah they feel quite nippy for what they are, not the most responsive of things though. Had a bad couple of days getting the turbo swapped over. First problem I had was the usual hard to reach/stiff bolts. Got them sorted in the end. The next day I snapped a bolt on the turbo oil return. Then the engine tried to run away but luckily stopped. I also suspect that the turbo I've bought is also on it's way out because there's still a lot of smoke but I think it might be just old oil in the pipes left from the last turbo.
-
Changed the turbo today, didn't quite finish still got to bolt the exhaust back on, but apart from that it's done. The old turbo was so fucked, massive amount of play in the shaft the fans were bent to fuck, worst turbo I've ever seen. The battery is on charge, getting some tyres swapped over tomorrow so once that's done it'll be a decent car, the interior is slightly tatty in some places but just needs a good clean inside, clean and polish on the outside, and it will be looking nice.

I won this on ebay a couple of days ago: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT And picked up a new turbo for it today for £55. ;) Got some plans for it, they're quite easy to tune and can fit most of the MG ZR body/interior parts so I should end up with a nice little car once I've spent a bit of money on it. Will update soon, picking the car up on wednesday. Bit of a downgrade from the CRX but oh well.

More searching uncovers that there are two sizes for EP91 N/A Starlets... 229 and 238mm. I'm selling the car so just replacing the parts with standard ones, just need to find out what size I need but I guess I might aswell just measure it.
-
I'm after some brake discs for my Starlet, but I think I remember hearing somewhere that the earlier EP91's had smaller discs than the later ones. On ebay I can only find 238mm discs so I assume they are all the same and should fit?
-
I've got a similar problem even though I'm with Sky insurance.... was paying around £2600 on my CRX and they want an extra £800ish for a Paseo or extra £600ish for a non turbo Starlet... fucking piss take.
-
It "works" on Skylines because they have two turbos and so two inlets. This is just a normal induction kit with an extra filter, wont really do anything it's basically just giving more filtration area, pretty pointless as one filter does the job anyway and this looks cheaply made. Waste of time/money IMO.

Another year another car... its just how i roll!

Good choice of car then for people who are new to RWD? I've always thought these were overlooked because of the whole "hairdresser image" thing but mk1's look quite beasty when they're lowered with some wide wheels. -

I love this. ;) More pics? -
It's mad how many skaters there are on here lol, in some ways I regret stopping and think I should have tried harder at it but you don't have the same sense of invincibility when you get older and start worrying "what if I fuck my legs up" etc... @ JAG yeah it's a shame a load of companies closed down, every so often I'll check the online skate shops to see what's about these days and what the new skates are like, it's changed a lot in the past few years. I remember when I started the "fashion" was stupidly baggy joggers and t-shirts ;) then it turned into all this emo skin tight jeans and sh

Used to skate loads, stopped about 2 years ago, sold my Razor's to my mate, wouldn't mind having a go at it again but I wasn't ever really any good at it and lost interest. Used to really enjoy it back in the day though it was literally all I did, all day every day.
