  1. Looking through the camera and came accross a pic of the car so thought I'd upload it seeing as I don't have any, ignore the ex gf in the driver's seat lol... It had a service just over a month ago and recently had 2 new tyres. The plan for 2012 is to upgrade the turbo to a VNT, which basically means it'll be capable of more power, without any more lag. (Google variable nozzle turbine if you've not heard of them), along with some bigger injectors as long as they don't hurt MPG too much. I'm aiming for a nice reliable 160bhp which should be easy to achieve on that sort of setup.
  2. 5 cylinder diesels make such a nice growl lol, I'd be tempted to get rid of the cat and DPF! 300ftlb at 1500rpm must be mental (next time you drive it, hold the revs at 1700rpm, then stamp on it, it's good for lolz with an unsuspecting passenger who isn't leaning back in their seat properly). I guess at that weight she's no ballet dancer but with those big anchors you could still have some good fun in it lol. Diesels are a very different drive to petrols but great fun once you get used to them.
  3. Mate get the new one remapped it will be a fucking animal! Your improved mpg will be down to not having to put your foot down so hard to get around. A remap (to some extent) will improve mpg aslong as you're gentle on the throttle. At a wild guess I'd say 250bhp is in easy reach. You could quite easily have a rather fast mile muncher with a couple of mods, but I guess it's fast enough for now lol. How much torque are these things chucking out? 5 or 6 speed? And how much do they weigh? I don't know what these cars are like to drive but I bet you once you get used to chucking it around it wi
  4. You absolute bastard, I nearly fucking bit the bait then LOL until I read it again
  5. I've only just realised but this is my mate Dave's old Glanza! It was mint when I last saw it, he takes good care of his cars. Just seen the vid of it on youtube, it sounds nice!
  6. Haha I'm actually gonna buy you some sort of prize when you finally get a car with a manual gearbox lol. Plans for future mods? T51R?
  7. Lol why do people compare peak power figures? They mean nothing in the real world! Nice car though, I absolutely love Supras, personally I'd change the wheels. I was hoping we could say you've finally got a proper gearbox.
  8. I tried a suede OMP and a leather Nardi. I prefer leather.
  9. Had no idea that had happened to your old car Liam! I don't think I need to post pics of my CRX again... needless to say I'll be trying to avoid the snow as much as possible this year.
  10. My dad ordered a wishbone from them via ebay, however he didn't know about Dave (RIP), and has been waiting a while to recieve what he ordered. Their website says they can't process any orders but obviously ebay is seperate to that.
  11. Good to see this project is still going after all these years! I quite liked that boot build you had, for a daily driver I really liked it with the carpet and the speakers on the side panels it looked very professional, but can't say no to a bit of weight loss. Not got time to read through all these pages but I've been on this forum a few years now and seen cars like this (and Joz's) change a LOT, quite a few people spend thousands building their cars only to break them a few months later, it's nice to see a few projects still getting bigger and better.
  12. It's cheaper for my mate to insure his MR2 turbo than his Glanza, bit of a piss take, 2.0 turbo mid engine RWD vs 1.3 turbo FWD hatchback. Nice car, big fan of GT4's.
  13. There are loads of different TD04's, check this link:
  14. Nice result but shouldn't the power and torque cross at 5252rpm? Which would mean this graph is wrong? Not trying to split hairs or anything but thought I'd point it out, no one else noticed lol.
  15. Would choose MeisterR's over D2's any day. WallaceGlanza speaks the truth, good advise there. Some people just wrongly assume rock hard suspension equals ultimate handling.
  16. It's me hiding in your boot, don't go out alone at night! It's most likely the alternator belt. Does it do it when you put a lot of electrical load on the alternator? Like when you've got the rear window heater/heater blowers/headlights on?
  17. Without reading other replies in this thread - I'd say it's not too hard at all, me and my dad did it in a weekend with an engine crane, left the gearbox in the car. This was with no previous experience of swapping an engine.
  18. I guess they are well suited to slow bass but not ideal for fast response.
  19. Even if you had the best speakers in the world in the standard places they wouldn't be ideal, as they're facing downwards. If I were you I'd get some custom door pods made, big enough to fit some decent size speakers and just run an amp and a crossover on some components. With the right setup it should be bassy enough but without a good sub you wont really replicate deep powerful bass. In saying that though, a lot of people get "reasonable" music quality with some uprated front speakers and a single sub and nothing else. Nothing special but good enough for casual listening whilst sat in traff
  20. As above you can get slim line subs that can go underneath seats. Otherwise get some good components, running off an amp. Your head unit might say 4x50w or something like that but really it's more like 4x15w RMS. Do a bit of reading on what makes a good speaker etc... there's more to it than just watts for a start. Oh and 6x9's are a compromise and not the best for quality.
  21. Come on then spammer, let's see some posts.
  22. That's expensive, it's about £40 for tracking where I work.
  23. Would be good if someone made a 4AGE conversion kit or something, a high performance 1600cc N/A suits these cars quite well I think. Considered a 7AFE bottom end?
