Waiting for Sparky's reply to this lol...

Didn't mean to come accross as a dick lol but better to clear it up incase it's put in the wrong place and fucks his turbo up. There is a turbo N series but no idea how hard they are to find as these diesel Starlets seem quite rare.
-
I know, my dad parked it like that, he's too lazy to put the wheels straight sometimes lol. But either way it shouldn't of happened, the wing mirror doesn't stick out much more than the wheel on lock so it must have just caught the edge of it.

Not meaning to pick nits but just a few things - It doesn't matter where the oil return goes aslong as it's reasonably high up on the sump as it's only gravity fed so if it's too low down in the sump the oil will just back up inside the pipe. The engine code is 1N, it's a 1.5 diesel, not related to the E series. And it might be worth saying the 2.2 diesel Estima/Lucida/Emina (Jap version of the Previa people carrier) uses a CT9. Yeah you'd need an adapter plate aswell as a downpipe.
-
For the oil return I think you'll need to either drill and tap the sump or drill a hole and weld a nipple thing on. Or get a sump off a 1N-T. Personally I'd run an intercooler on it, even if it's just a standard 4EFTE top mount bodged to the front of the car as a sort of mock FMIC, this will allow for more boost and a bit more power but if you didn't want to bother then just run a small amount of boost and you'll be fine (obviously with less power) and considering the price you could get an intercooler for I'd do it. Does it have a cat? Get rid of it if it has one. I'd say with an intercoo

Any progress with this? The CT9 is about the same size as the GT15 on my Rover 2.0 diesel and that comes on boost very very early so you shouldn't have too much lag on the 1.5. How do you adjust the fuelling on these is it a mechanical pump? As it's a non turbo I would imagine it doesn't have anything such as a boost compensator so I guess you only have a max fuel adjustment? You could easily run the turbo at a fair bit more than 0.3 bar but it would probably be quite smokey off-boost. Very interested to see how this turns out. Edit: Just did a quick search and there was actually a t

Just spoke to my dad and he said the steering feels tighter to turn the one way than it does the other. Sounds like a problem with the rack?

Will find a wishbone then and try some different wheels and see if that sorts it. And funnily enough the council have recently changed the full size bus to a small mini bus thing for our road, bit late to do anything and we don't have any proof but there isn't much else that would cause that sort of damage.
-
A while ago my sisters car was parked on the road with the wheel facing outwards, and we think the cunty bus driver that always comes flying down here caught the wheel and bent it back. So far we have changed the track rod ends and new ball joints, shocks and springs, had the tracking done, but it still doesn't drive right according to my dad (haven't been in the car myself). So what else could have been damaged? We reckon either the steering rack itself or the lower wishbone, or worst case the chassis. We don't think it did any damage to the wheel although there is a tiny buckle in it but

Glanza replica would be good, I love this colour and would like to see it on a Glanza. What's the spec on the cams? A Corolla inlet manifold would make a good difference and would be my next engine mod. Depending on the cams I'd say you could be near or above 100bhp with a Corolla or 4EFTE inlet manifold and a good exhaust manifold.

shite coming out of my exhaust

How many miles on the engine? Valve stem seals? Although I'd have thought burning oil would give off more of a blue colour. -
Bit too much gay stance going on at the back but apart from that I like it. And I usually hate zim zimmers.
-
As Blitz said a good EBC should help but the best (although expensive) fix is an external wastegate.
-
Don't get replicas, find some genuine seats from another car on ebay or something.

I don't see how a Golf is less sensible than a Starlet, silly parents lol. Assuming you were getting a mk4 Golf, and as a first car having to stick with the 1.4 engine, you're better off with a Starlet anyway as they are pretty much on par with a 1.6 mk4 Golf. Get a Corolla inlet manifold on there, and to make it look a bit nicer some clear indicators and a spoiler (either a standard Sportif or TTE one). Starlets are great first cars, I wouldn't have changed mine for anything at the time.
-
Heard a few bad stories about reliability on these, diesel engines in general are good for daily drivers and easy power gains if you want them. Driving A to B you will love it.
-
I'd just get an old 100bhp 4EFE from the old shape EP80's Starlets and drop that in. May need some fiddling with the loom I think but it's physically a straight swap.
-
Another thing to consider is how you like your car to ride, as it's all a bit of a compromise. Higher profile tyre = more comfortable Lower proflile = you can feel the road better and it looks better I loved my Starlet on 45 profiles, could feel everything, with 50's on it felt sloppy. 5% can make a good bit of difference.
-
If you change to 16's you will have to go for a lower profile tyre which will make the bumpyness even worse. If you stayed at the same profile the chances are the tyres will scrape the arches due to it being lowered. See if you can fit any bigger wheels/tyres under there, what are you running at the moment? With my Starlet which was lowered about 40mm and on 195/45/15 I had no problems, just had to go very slowly over bumps. When I changed to 195/50/15 I could hear the front outside tyre rubbing the arch when cornering hard with a decent bit of steering lock on. The expensive alternative i

This is hilarious if I ever meet you I'm going to call it a "Pah-see-oh" just for lols. It is annoying though when people can't say or spell things properly. "Glanzer" or even worse "Glancer" really pisses me off.
-
Haha, I didn't think I'd ever own 1. a diesel or 2. a Rover. Now I have both. I thought it was going to be a big come down going from an 8k rpm VTEC screamer to this, but I actually love it. If I ever get another petrol car it will have to be turbocharged though.

any one tryed toyo r1rs and uniroyal rainsport 2s

You might want to look into getting a limited slip diff. -
It's most likely the springs that give it a harsh ride. I've always heard good things about Monroe, but I expect they're just made to OEM specification.

I found this if it's any help to anyone, go to the "turbo wheel size comparison" it lists all the TD04s and TD05s etc... http://www.stealth316.com/2-turboguide.htm#c

Really need to get some piccys up, bit boring without pictures! But my decat arrived yesterday, so I got it on the car, slight improvement in power but a big improvement on the rev range, turbo comes in easier and it now revs nicely up to 4500rpm (not that you need to rev it that high) whereas before it didn't really go anywhere past 3.5k when standard or 4k with just the tuning box. I just need to set the boost up now, should clear up some of the smoke when it's at 19psi. It's so nice to drive, can't get enough of it, it's not exactly setting the world alight but the accelleration is fairly
