The 4EFE cover has the same pcv valve and position as the 4EFTE cover. It just has the breather pipe in a different position and is smaller in diameter. If you must use one it gives you an excuse to use a catch tank to accomodate the smaller breather. It won't be detrimental to your engine if done right. 4EFE cover on my setup with catch tank. Breather hose on inlet manifold is blocked off. Hose on top of the catch tank is to atmosphere (open) The tank is getting filled so it's doing its job. Joz

Emanage Blue for £250 here Emanage Ultimate full kit here I'd go for the ultimate as it has more features and a little more tunability but a bit more expensive @£400+. However many use the Blues for tuning with no problems. They won't hang around for long. EP82 use 2 pin connectors and EP91 3 pin connectors to plug into the ecu plugs so be sure to check if a field harness is included. Entry level EMS units can also be had for around the £400-£500 mark. Tune it once, tune it right and it will save you in the long run. Joz

A full respray is the only solution and for an EP bumper look at around £100 minimum for a decent job. Touching it up will leave it looking far worse. At least the bumper itself is damaged and its just the paint. Exterior work soon mounts up sadly Joz

Spring cleaning sounds spot on dude. A well maintained functioning EP is hard to beat! Joz

Few V's and GTs come and go round my area but they either get damaged/totalled, engine trouble or the owners banned lol. Joz

Brings back memories Now thats what I call some damn good progress. Racetech goodies look way too good to ignore. Few more steps closer broski Joz

Hey Bean Its the diagram of the 4EFTE differential if thats possible. The shims are a long list with various sizes. Its a pain that toyodiy doesnt have the diagrams anymore = lots of stuff missing. What was so handy about it was that it had the prices etc too lol. Cheers Joz
-
They are available from Toyota mate. I got the part numbers off Toyodiy but obviously it is not as easy now seeing as the diagrams are missing. They come in many different sizes (a long list) measured in a few thousandths. Only thing is it is not possible to know the exact size/thickness you need. You will only need the one. I had to buy a small selection which cost a little and had Chris (ccm) fit each one until the right one fit. You only need a new shim if there is slack between your diff and your gearbox (a little play) which you have found that you do. The reason some people don't reshim is because everything was 100% the first time. Joz

What is your budget and are you after aluminium piping or stainless steel piping? Large core or small core? All will need bumper trimming to a certain extent. There is certainly a difference in quality in the piping materials used. I'd highly recommend a brand new stainless steel WEPRkit for peace of mind if you love your EP enough. The hotpipe also avoids going over the hot exhaust manifold and their cores are Greddy/Trust. Joz

Keep up the good work Liam. Remember it's a fresh start so be sure to give it a chance Joz

No worries mate Having done more research it also seems the n/a gearbox diff is smaller (as well as aftermarket units being rare). Have edited my post to reflect this as accurately as possible. There are so many sources of info you don't know what to trust these days. Like I said there will always be variants/exceptions. All the best with your GB mate and keep us updated. It seems all set to go. Joz

Its a C154 mate (4EFTE is C152/C156 (GT & Glanza had variants) and C151 is the oem lsd gearbox) according to this gear ratio thread, here and here. Just to let you know that some earlier GTs came with a 6 bolt diff from the factory so the 6 bolt theory is not just related to the 4EFE. There will always be exceptions. C150 series for your gearbox group buy is 100% as long as everyone is running a standard 8 bolt differential 4EFTE gearbox. 4EFE & 4EFTE box differences are the ratios and the number of diff bolts to hold the diff. The n/a diff is smaller according to this thread and at at least you have my photos to prove this All the C150 gearboxes are the same model but have a different bell housing to suit the intended engine. All are technically C150 (C50) series boxes (all being 5 speed) I'd believe it is up to the group buyers to know/check what diff they have (6 bolt/8 bolt) but I'd say 6 bolt is very rare Only a select few would upgrade their 4EFE gearboxes anyway. All the traders stock the 8 bolt diff so tbh I'd just go ahead with an 8 bolt ATB group buy as it is the standard issue. Joz

I'll be happy to check the box for any full codes/part numbers. Feel free to use my photos bud. Give me two tics As for your group buy I'll be looking forward to seeing what price you can get. @Joel - No worries bro, soon as I find a replacement as I want an FTE enabled box. Joz
-
Very Interesting I have a QUAIFE ATB 6 bolt diff in my 4EFE gearbox which Im running on 4EFTE at the moment. Have had it in from new old stock from Japan, must be rare if QUAIFE UK don't sell them (must be discontinued?) Im looking for a mint 4EFTE gearbox with an ATB installed also or just the 8 bolt FTE QUAIFE itself. Is your diff actually in your gearbox or is it out From my experience it is far easier just to get something that is straight bolt in than mess with crown wheels and bell housings etc. Joz

Are you looking for an upgrade or just a cheap standard replacement? Joz

Cheers for the kind comments guys The jdm factory finish isnt great on wheels so a powercoat brings them out nicely. Will keep going as much as I can but surely not much more I can do to it Joz -
Hi and welcome to UKSC mate You can use that hosting site as long as each image can be linked via url and copy and pasted into your forum post. The majority of members on here use popular sites such as photobucket because it is free and easy to use. Here is our guide Photobucket Hope this helps. Joz

Has been a while since I announced this update and I did find myself drifting further away from this forum but... The reason I took so bloody long is because I had a saga with my Rays alloys which were worse for wear and needed a refurb bigstyle. I asked an alloy wheel powdercoating service to colour match my Rays to the exact same bronze that they use. Of course they balls'd it up by not even coming close to the colour I wanted (gold?) and added a Caribbean blue lip sprayed in. Of course I wasn't happy with the result (will post pics later) so I kindly asked can I get them redone and they agreed to do it free of charge as long as it was a standard colour which I thought was a result. So I thought fuck it, brilliant white as they had a TE37 lookalike in their showroom and it looked sweet so went with the same white. My EP was on axle stands for a week but I finally got them back, in the meantime I ordered Rays decals to replace the gramlight ones that had to come off. Got them from Acromann, pretty pro if you ask me And here are the results with more pics to come when my reverse scoop is back. Pretty sure the decals are a size too big (meant for 17"+) but I'm loving the slightly overstated look. Few quick daytime pics and yes the old scoop is back in, reverse scoop is away getting colour coded) After decal application in full Rays colours (last time you will see the rays valve cap as pikeys just love em ^^) Excuse wonky wheel cap... Small kit I bought to combat the brakedust/road filth Plate moved to allow near full airflow to the WEPR fmic. Near future plans are to visit Jays for a new year EP checkup and check out an annoying knock under the exhaust, most likely a loose rubber. Car drives fine so hopefully its nothing serious Car boosts fine at 0.8 bar with the occasional fuel cut in 3rd and 4th high up the revs on full beans. Quite normal to expect that really so shouldn't be too long before I get the Emanage back in to combat that rather then the fcd route. Engine has loosened up quite nicely. Meisters have also been surface cleaned and tweaked to -1deg camber Can also highly recommend Uniroyal Rainsport 2's, although a harder compound very good in the dry and smooth in the wet, will definitely move back to 195/45s in the near future as I believe handing is better than 195/50s. Have a mint 5 point cusco chromoly (the good stuff) rollcage waiting for me @Jays (courtesy of IdWorkz) but insurance aren't having it so may need to change companies as that will be the final touch to my chassis mods. And for anybody interested in getting wheel decals but have never done it, this is for you Joz's Wheel Decal Tips #1 - Buy decals from a decent place i.e Lukep or Acromann in the correct size and colour that you desire. #2 - Make sure wheels are clean especially the areas that the decals will be applied to. #3 - Offer decal (still on backing sheet) to the wheel so you can have a fair idea of how/where you want it. #3 - Carefully peel backing off decal and begin to position decal to area desired with both hands holding edge of decal. #4 - If it looks good to you, go with it and rub it down so it applies. If not all is not lost, carefully remove and try again. #5 - Remove clear film carefully and fully. #6 - Revel in your newly decal'd jdm rims, take lots of sexual pics and post on uksc. #7 - Good luck if you have to do 8 of them like I did #8 - If you are a fussy bastard, only god can help you. #9 - They will probably never look as precise as the originals but be confident and try your best! Nobody is perfect! (I even had printouts in front of me ffs lol) Thanks for reading! Apologies for the sudden influx of Red Eps with white wheels but I'm always dreamed of a white set of Gramlights and I finally got my wish Car is pretty healthy and mclovin' it. Joz -
