  5. Dear UKSC As you know here @ UKSC we are all a genuine bunch of individuals and as such we as a club have decided to help the effort in aiding the Tsunami and Earthquake victims of Japan by putting together one large donation from the site, the paypal address is uksc_fundraising@yahoo.co.uk, this is a no charge account within Paypal and will keep everything above board. This custom donation button has also been created to make it easier to access and make donations and can also be found at the top of the uksc site page. We ask that you please include your username when making a donation as we are in the middle of putting together a mystery JDM goodie bag that will be given to one individual drawn at random from all PayPal donaters which will certainly not disappoint. All group donations such as from fund raising events will also be very welcome and it is still possible to put a group name in the draw if you wish to do so. We need to act NOW as a group, once the monies are in place it will be decided which charitable organisations be it the Save the Children, Japanese Red Cross etc that the monies goes to. Of course UKSC being the community as it is, we will post up a poll very shortly so that members can choose out of a selection of credible non-profit organisations that the donation fund will go directly to the effort in Japan at the end of April. Everyone is a winner in this instance. Throughout the year we will be collecting at ALL major meets with a bucket and this will be added to the fund so please dig deep for this appeal. We will endeavor to continually up date on any progress made for this appeal. YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED ON THIS MATTER NOW Here are the candidates for our donation campaign who are based in the UK, US and Japan itself. Red Cross Appeal Japanese Red Cross Society Non Profit Paypal Global Giving Real Time Information/History & Links of Interest Google Crisis Response Interactive Guide Rememberance Photos Possible Volunteering Please contact myself or John (ro55fumi) our official uksc fundraiser if we can be of any assistance. More detailed information such as timelines, daily updates on the situation and other info will be posted here very shortly so that you may be better informed. Thank You Joz & The UKSC Team
  6. Would the type of cardboard you use make a difference Id? Corrugated stuff is meant to be bend proof and prevent punctures. Just bought 100 mailers for some LPs I'm selling. My roll cage was scraped down one side due to the shipping, this was w/o cardboard tho. Just because it is wrapped plenty, does not mean it cannot get damaged Joz
  7. Please attempt to post in the provided technical sections in future. Topic moved. Thanks Joz
  8. Everything looks awesome Steve Glad to see it all come together dude. How are you finding the mani? Looks the muttleys. I so regret not keeping it for myself hehe. Joz
  9. Sorry to hear about this broki. The thing is you have to be REALLY specific when you get work done anywhere these days. If you don't want them to take photos, rev the engine or take it for a spin you have to let them know. Unfortunately hardly anywhere is trustworthy these days, especially for the hard to please like you and me. Imagine a wheel place that sprayed your rays wheel caps for you as a favour or took off your spanking V6 engine cover and roughed it up badly. You would think they were complete numptys... or remove your tyres badly and fuck up the rays valve stems so you had to get new ones. Last one happened to me and the others are true stories. Its those sort of things that can happen easily. Even CH, you have tell him exactly what you want and and what not to do, or there is a big chance it could happen. Its not your fault but double check next time you get something done for extra peace of mind. Specify is the key. Who knows what scallies saw my engine bay when I left the car and wheels up... Joz
  10. You wouldnt believe the amount of miles on my rebuilt engine but it was still running sweet in the donor car. This gave me confidence to have it professionally rebuilt and it is going really well. Unless forging, I would go for a replacement GT engine than a Glanza one as the GT has the stronger/thicker rods. Joz
  11. Great news and just need to see some epornographic pics as Mr Lew stated That is all! Joz
  12. Wait until you are properly ready to buy a decent one in your price range Wull, the difference will be huge. As for insurance my v5 (logbook) is still unchanged as a 1.3 starlet but it is perfectly insured as a 1.3 4EFTE turbo conversion. If the law asks to see proof all you need is your insurance certificate with the proper details that its a turbo. 1.3 on logbook means sfa as long as its properly insured. If neither fronts are stated/insured as turbo then your insurance is void = Huge Muppet Fail. Joz
  13. Awesome updates Can't wait to see the detailing pics. Joz
  14. If you are proposing to running a 5E bottom end I'd at least go with the 5EFHE pistons to be on the safe side. They are at least an upgrade over the stock 5EFE rods which are as thin as the 4EFE ones. If not going forged then the 5EFHE rods with 4EFTE pistons are the weapon of choice. I have a set of 5EFHE rods and pistons (selling together) spare if you are interested. and they are not too easy to find. If you were going to use the FHE pistons all you would need is new piston rings but they are higher compression. However the 4EFTE pistons (lower compression) would be ideal as you are going to be boosting. Joz
  15. There was no need to apologise mate lol Completely your preference, the TRD, Blitz, K&N are all decent. Nobody can really choose for you. Joz
  16. They will both fit Ali as stated earlier Turbo panel filter is the exact same fitment as n/a! Joz
  17. Starlet n/a and UK Paseo injectors are both 195cc buddy. The 5EFHE ones are 225cc, 4EFTE is 295cc. If you are not close to maxing out the current injectors then there is no real need to upgrade as you don't want to overfuel/flood the engine. Don't be fooled into thinking just adding bigger injectors alone will add more power, especially as there is no additional air coming from anywhere. Joz
  18. Very sad times that are not even under their control. Sincere thoughts go out to all who are out there. Joz
  19. Welcome back to the site Rick We all never really leave this place at all! Looking forward to seeing your new build. Joz
  20. Congrats Id So nearly there mate. Keep it up! Joz
  21. Have an awesome day man and enjoy your cool cake! Joz
  22. I had it setup this way by Jay and my engine builder Secret Steve The top pipe is venting to atmosphere (through a hole in the chassis) as the catch tank system should not be completely sealed (closed off) or it may cause excess crankcase pressure. Normally the pipe coming from the inlet mani is attached to the pcv valve but as I have the catch tank, it is now blanked off. The vacuum is usually drawn from the inlet mani by the pcv valve which decreases under load (blowby occurs). So the other two pipes from the pcv valve and the rocker cover breather itself connect to the catch tank instead. Its just designed to catch excess oil vapours from the breathing system which are usually recirculated into your air intake, vent to atmosphere instead. Far better than just plonking a small breather filter onto the rocker breather. There are a few ways to have this setup and this way is working for me. Joz
  23. Your welcome mate Let us know how you progress. Joz
