  1. Just in 6 hours ago... Latest on Typhoon Disaster Joz
  2. Up-tp-date news, figures and reports can be found in the following links: JRC Tsunami/Earthquake Updates & Info Operations Updates Joz
  3. Great idea James I'd be in for a set pending on design, logos etc. TRD or a uksc star/ukstarletclub.com motif somewhere would be a nice touch if possible. Joz
  4. Bought THE apexi td04 relocation kit off Mr Legend. All arrived well packed and as described. Highly recommended to deal with :harhar: Cheers mate! Joz
  5. Try finding some info on the TF035 Ste mate :harhar: Here's two articles to wet your whistle #1 #2 Smaller than TD04L, quicker spool, similar characteristics and TD series flange obviously. Comes from the Subaru Forrester Turbo. I'll probably try one much later. Might be up your street however the regular TD04L is always readily available second hand, its just finding a nice low miles one. eBay and the forums are your friend. Ted on tgtt dabbles a lot in different TD and VF turbos so could source you one if you are stretched. Joz
  6. Cheers Ryan mate You bet! I still need to get your pillar bars painted lol. Its cool, I've bought an apexi/samco jobby. Cheers for the offer Joz
  7. Thanks for the kind words of appreciation and encouragement lads Just saving for a new exhaust now to get her boosting. For the time being she will be driven like an n/a. I honestly can't wait until she is fully up and running JAE or at least one major UK meet one day for sure! Joz
  8. Ever wondered why some Tial wastegates are so cheap on eBay? Real vs Fake An Example...
  9. Cheers for the kind comments gents ;) Si I know so well mate but the results are more than worth it! Socks I will be upgrading to a nice civic rad a lil' later. Jay assured me this rad would not affect the quality of tune so its currently on loan. Just to get this new zaust ordered and we can move on swiftly Joz
  10. Thanks for the kind comments lads Engine bay is still a work in progress so room for improvement! The cooling panel is out for easy access at the moment. First things first, a HUGE thanks to Jays Garage for installing my race-tech td04 kit on such short notice. Very much appreciated as always!!! Secondly MANY thanks to Jamie for sorting me out an awesome deal for his basically brand new Race-Tech kit, I couldn't be any happier with my dealings with him and especially the kit itself (sexual steel), the man is a real gent and very highly recommended ;) Thirdly this installation was powered by red bull and littered with small complications. I had to lose my double core radiator as it would no way fit with the race tech manifold. We went with a slightly shorter than oem radiator which has been used on a previous td04 setup. Even with this, it was still very tight and hardly oem radiator friendly at all... The rad itself (as you can see, its shorter than oem) needed modding and Jay did some soldering and cooked up an air con fan to be front mounted on the radiator as again there were big issues with clearance with the turbo kit. We will go with this rad for now because it works. My backbox also decided to basically snap at the join so I am saving the pennies for a new bigger bore ss exhaust system. The turbo and external wastegate are not set up as I will need to go see Chris to get my emu tuned together with my ebc. So running no boost at the moment and she is sitting here until I get the new exhaust system as it would be pointless to get her mapped now and then after. The turbo was meshed just so that I could get home as my old ct9 relocation kit or anything else would not fit. I am on the case for a td04 air filter relocation. All in all a hectic early start and a late for work finish but it was well worth it albeit burning a toasty hole in my already skint wallet ;) Finally one step closer to being properly pulled back into my seat. Joz
  11. Its still great to get an update on your project bro and that the force is still strong. As soon as you get those pistons, bang! the engine will be sorted I just know it! The time you are waiting for them to come, surely the bodywork/chassis will be sorted? Judging from the cr ratio etc you will going to a totally different level to where I got to lol. Are you installing uprated cams too bro? Joz
  12. Check this thread mate. All the info you need is there and more. Joz
  13. You have posted in the right place but this subject has been covered many times before Some choice articles for you: #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 Also some interesting info from our sister site 4EFE-T or 4EFTE? These are just the tip of the iceberg and there are plenty more on the site within that section. The conversion can cost hundreds or thousands, it all depends on the quality and reliability of build you can afford or aspire to. There are also insurance issues to consider so make sure you can be fully covered before even thinking of going ahead. Hope this helps and happy reading. The large majority of things have been covered in those topics. Joz
  14. It is indeed safe, just make sure you are fuelling ok on wide open throttle. Leaning out will cost you your engine. I'm running 1.1 bar with a ported mani and emanage ultimate. Joz
  15. That's the spirit mate Not all is lost are there are still plenty of things you can do to your rep. Check n/a engine discussions in technical for more info. Joz
  16. No worries mate You will find a lot of other members suggesting the same thing, pass your test first and get some ncb and driving experience under your belt and then go from there. Starting off in a turbocharged first car will just end in a downward spiral in terms of everything. Joz
  17. Car insurance has gone off the wire this year, and even at renewal time you are bound to pay MORE than what you were paying before on the same policy regardless of your age, driving experience or gender. Companies are hitting even harder on young drivers. The turbo conversion can be expensive to insure especially in the uk. There is no 'cheap' way to go about it. If you register a lower class engine when you are really running a 4EFTE then you are falsely declaring on your insurance hence it will be void (you are not legally covered and basically not insured at all). So in the case of an accident or claim, your insurance company will discover this, not pay out and you will be royally screwed. this is the same with declaring major mods. We have all been there and wanted a turbo EP when we were 18, some have done it and paid the premium and some decided to wait, drive an n/a for a few years, and are now boosting happily, myself included. Some in GTs or Glanzas and some in conversions. Seeing as you haven't even sat your test, I'd say you may not even get a quote at all from most companies. There is also the cost involved as so much needs to be done. There is no point in sticking a shit engine in as it will eventually go within a few months or a few years. Quality parts and quality work will equal a quality conversion. Can you afford it and to also have it off the road whilst stilll paying for the road tax etc, quite a few things to consider. By all means we wish you the best on getting a quote but many of us have been there and got the t-shirt so I hope you can take our advice into consideration Joz
  18. That is crazy news Raffi mate and I'm very sorry to hear this. I've been the same as you and spent too much time/money when I could have been enjoying myself. I bet it was your pride and joy but at least now you can concentrate on other things. Plus you still have any of your bikes? Sadly you can't beat the system this time but I know you have tried your best with all the crazy regulations out there. Kudos (respect) for all the hard time/money/work you spent to make your EP into such a stunner, a red EP and owner I certainly won't forget! I hope you had some happy times boosting her when she was FTE inside and congrats on the website feature a few months back. All the best with the future Raf man Joz
  19. They speed the car down very well when using half pedal for normal braking. After bedding in the discs and pads Jay did a pretty hard but short stop and she near locked up. I'm only using them half pedal at the moment until I get them rebled sometime next week and a few clunks looked at. They are showing great promise and should be working to their potential after the rebleed and more pedal pressure. I went for the Ferodo DS2500 brake pads in the end. They will need to be up for it as I will roadmapping with Chris in a few weeks, will update their performance as I go along. The car is a daily driver with the occasional full boost b-road blast. Get them fitted and the car on the road asap Rich Joz
  20. I can only suggest an extra resonator but it would strangle a little performance (maybe sports resonator) or a smaller backbox tailpipe i.e 3" or 3.5" which should sound sportier. 4" to 4.5" is guaranteed to be loud. I've even had a 2" fujitsubo tailpipe before on the n/a, was pretty sporty. Joz
  21. Cheers for all the recommendations. I bought genuine Scooby gaskets on eBay. So for those who wish to get 'genuine ' at a good price I can't recommend this uk based seller enough and they have very good feedback. If one can buy 'genuine' rather than 'as good as' or 'as thick as' gaskets for the same price or just a little more, it seems the right option to take. Joz
  22. Cheers Jonny & Rob, happy to hear you are appreciating the work There's still room for improvement though Have just bought genuine Scooby gaskets on eBay. So for those who wish to get 'genuine ' at a good price I can't recommend this seller enough. TD04 kit is nearly sorted, then book a doctors appointment at Jay's Garage for the surgery to take place. Joz
  23. Cheers Liam They just make sense mate, investing in the main safety of these cars will go a long way. Brake pedal is warming up and feeling good, just to add my bmcs to complete it. Joz
  24. Thanks Keri They are 15" Rays Gramlights 57C 4x100 - Offset 38 - 7J Wide - 2mm spacers were not needed but used regardless. Definitely enough clearance to house the heavy duty discs, however makes no difference to me as I will be investing in your smaller two piece rotors once they are released. FYI my old brake discs for the levin brakes were 260mm and wider. Cheers for all the kind comments guys. More updates to come soon The end is getting closer for this red ep.. or is it??? Joz
  25. I believe an update was WELL overdue lads lol. Many many thanks to Jay for his time yesterday to get these badboys sorted. Nothing ever goes to plan unless you have small slender japanese hands it seems! Brakes are brand new so will take a short while to wake up. The bed in process was completed correctly. TD04 kit is being sorted as we speak, which kit it is should be a no brainer Off to order the subaru gaskets now. Joz p.s Jay that was a sneaky pic! lmao!
