  1. Safest and with minimal of fuss or additional tuning would be the direct placement Tongs CT9 RB Spec which is a fully rebuilt ct9 with enlarged wastegate penny for better boost control. Other options are hybrid ct9 which will fit your manifold but ideally needs additional tuning to reap the benefits and are notorious for blown seals/rebuilds. Td04 will set you back a whole new setup of manifold, turbo and downpipe (ct9 adapter plate is possible but limits full potential) with only low boost possible without additional tuning/mapping and fueling limiting its potential. Cheapest/best option is
  2. I think we all did lol! Defo one of the nicest.
  3. It all sounds like a good plan mate Yea I drive on lo boost quite often as it gives me the good ol' CT9 feel with a tad more punch. My intercooler is also small (wepr) and the pipes are also 2" and fairly short, I'll take some pics later. Full boost is defo just under 4k (spools just after 3k), but you know yourself, to achieve that you need the pedal flat to the floor. I have to say though, off boost is a fairly lazy drive, how do you find yours? Joz
  4. Respray and wheels looking tasty mate Any closer to the TD04? Joz
  5. Sorry to see the blowout damage but am amazed you have restored it. You must have deep love for your EP as that takes dedication Livesports front is gonna be immense in met black (if thats the colour you'll be using) I'm sure there is more but I just know you are gonna surprise us all. Keep up the nice work and looking forward to the next big update. Joz
  6. Excellent results mate You should be very happy. TD do a fantastic job. It is possible to reach 260 or thereabouts on standard engine with a touch more boost, but its not all about figures. Its how it drives and I'm sure it feels great. 230-240bhp atf is an expected figure for a good tune at 1-1.1bar which many have achieved. My engine is standard and runs 1.2bar on the TD04 on hi boost. Am also using Blitz Dual SBC which I also use for other boost settings (0.8 and 1bar) Here are my dyno printouts for your curiosity. My lo boost 0.7 bar is quite high but accurate as it had repeat dyno run
  7. Great photos Alan Joel's car has been tidied nicely too since the last I seen it. Keep up the stellar work and keep those Toyotas rolling gents. Joz
  8. Thats great news John Biting the bullet to push things further! Love it! Joz
  9. No worries mate It means once you have it installed, you won't need to bolt a sensor onto your exhaust to get the readings. Will be far more accurate for tuning and future readings. Joz
  10. Excellent update mate You are in great hands with CCM, top quality road mapping. If you haven't already I'd highly recommend a wideband sensor and gauge to make tuning on the fly that much more accurate/easier. All the best with it and please update us once its all properly up and running. Joz
  11. Sounds good man Please keep us updated. Joz
  12. Hou if you are reading this, please get some new stock in for goodness sake Am screaming for a clay and lube kit. Joz
  13. Thanks for sharing mate Looks like you had an awesome time. Some evil looking machinery in there! Joz
  14. Welcome back to the EP world Rich Joz
  15. My pleasure John mate Would hate to see a decent EP go to waste due to some small seals. Again all the best with the rebuild and beyond! Most importantly bring back the EP love Joz
  16. That seems to be the going rate at the moment Don't forget about honing and other machine work. Joz

  18. Last time I saw, Gary@GBRMotorsport had one for sale mate. Worth checking out. Joz
  19. John does the blue smoke appear immediately on startup and during normal driving and boost? Did TD have anything to say about it? If it was me and funds/time allowed I'd rebuild the whole engine so it could live on. My engine was fully rebuilt when the car was converted but there are small signs of the valve stem seals going also, but I do not get blue smoke, only slight combustion smell after screamer pipe. I am going to take it up with my engine builder in a decent manner once I get the opportunity. The only time I got blue smoke was when I plumbed in the rocker breather pipe (for vacuum)
