Can anyone recommend a good Speed Camera Detector?
5T4R7ET N/A replied to Amjad's topic in Lifestyle General
most sat navs pick up speed camera's nowadays. same as any of the devices for speed cameras, you have to update to keep on top of things. but i dont think that there is anything out there going to get a mobile police unit, which is affordable at the moment. -
its sad you have to sell it mate after you spent all that effort building it up, but credit to you because its a Epic build. I'm sure this awesome build will justify the price you sell it for. attention to detail is crazy.

if you cant get hold of a 4EFTE gearbox then next best thing is a 5EFE paseo gearbox and finally if worst comes to worst a 4EFE gearbox.

why dont you go TD04, CJ performance is coming out with a kit soon. Probably around 200-240 for mani and decat braced.

major issue fitting anti lift kit.....
5T4R7ET N/A replied to LeeroyV's topic in Chassis & Suspension
you have to be carefull when fitting these, you can put too much pressure on one bolt. do one bolt a little bit at a time. make sure that all other bolts for wishbone are loose, so track rod end and the front wishbone bush nuts have to be loose. -
Dont worry mate, its not a hard job all you need to do is take the rocker cover off and the rubber gaskets are on the inside of the rocker cover. these are called plug or chamber seals. here is a guide replacing chamber seals

you need to make sure when you put the top mount on that you have it at roughly the right angle. it is a bit difficult, but you know that the rear suspension has to face a certain way when you bolt it from the bottom.

if i was you i would sell the JAM ecu get greddy e-manage blue and couple it with greddy profec eo-1 boost controller. they work well together and a get it mapped with the boost controller which means it will be running spot on. its probably not what you wanted to hear but its a affordable and qaulity setup. -
i didnt know you could use a 4EFTE throttle body on a n/a. i know that people use the inlet manifold and use another throttle body, like a celica or standard one?????? someone correct me if im wrong.

I reckon that this way looks the best, but its not a easy one to do.

personally i believe its up to you, after i lowered my car on apex springs which are only 35mm lower than standard, the rear of the car was lower on the driver side by 10mm. it looked very odd to me, but when i comes to the handling i didnt have a chance to push it and see what it was like because i got me allignment done soon after.

Changing EP91 n/a Rear Springs
5T4R7ET N/A replied to Zombie Behind The Wheel's topic in Chassis & Suspension
sorry for hijack, i decided to put my Apex rear springs on the other day, and found after dropping the car off the jack that the top coils are touching. around 4 of them i installed them so the tighter coils are at the top. have I put the springs on right way round? -

i thought that starlet's only used stretch bolts. thats why when you torque them down and the last turn is done at 90 degrees instead of a torque setting. this is why you should not reuse stretch head bolts. this is what i believe is true, could be wrong.
