I found mine pretty easy to get off, you just need the right tool. Use a puller like this set:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/46PC-Harmonic-Balance-Puller-Kit-Remove-Gears-Steering-wheel-Crankshaft-1922-/141031590428?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item20d6234a1c I've got a clarke set and used it when I did the timing belt last, worked a treat and you won't chip anything on it beating it with a hammer! On a side note, I would not replace the stock pully with an aftermarket one as they can damage the engine in the long run.
