  2. love this. coming on a bit now and looking good. i think sometimes readin car builds makes me to happy
  3. id do a complete clean of everythin on the brake setup ie take the sliders out both sides and clean them and regrease them and put everythin back together and see if its still the same. if it is at least ul know its nothing at the actual brake end. dunno if it will help but it would definatly eliminate the calipers if everythings moving freely.
  4. nice job with the colour restoration so far when u say rear units i assume u mean glanza ones and not gt ones lol 98 spec rears ftw ;) Russell
  5. ill try lol my bloody bank keep sending me letters saying we can give you upto 15000 at a low intrest rate . i wish i was brave enough to just do it.

  9. wow thats alot of amazing info there man. someone should take your posts in this topic and put it into a sticky on the 4x4 page just so its all together and easy to find i noticed u said an lsd up front would solve some traction issue but are there any available that would fit the box ? cheers Russell
  10. are replacement drums as easy to come by as they are for the regular n/a's ? ill be lookin at about 300 bhp and car mainly being used for fun ie track and stuff so would a rear disc upgrade be better or not really ?
  11. all good parts mate. thats where i got my bearing etc from. id suggest giving tmd an email tho as my bearings had to be ordered in before they were sent to me so took a while to come
  12. I've always wondered that aswell now i dont need to ask.
  13. ha defo somethin id wanna try on a fucked box first
  14. i tried to post here a second ago but my net is gay lol. all i was gonna say is if u go for a regrind then the shells will need to be supplied with the crank from whoever regrinds it. but if uv got a crank sorted then no matter . traders on here are good for parts but also try camskill as somethings are cheaper on there.
  15. wow suprised that its not alot more squished. ahh the bill his insurance will pay is gonna be mega. i remember i shunted someone when i was goin like 15 miles per hour and the car in front needed a new front n back bumber and the car in front of that needed a new towbar and total cost to insurance company came back at 3k lol. glad uz are mostly ok tho
  16. wow i was expecting a little fender bender when i seen the rip bit. good uz r both ok man.
  17. well it might genuinly be a td05 with low boost but kind of pointless to go td05 for that figure haha
  18. im not sure on how to tell if the engine is a gt one or a glanza one but yeh one does have thicker rods. quite a bit thicker aswell.
  19. it is cheap and battered but with a little effort u could get a better condition used one. considering that a new aluminium one is like 70 quid then anyone tryin to charge above 25 for a standard used one is stoooopid
  20. reposting that its a repost = lolz
  21. i can just imagine some massive body builder coming out of the gym ( with a schwartsneger voice ) shoutin get me a burger lol fucked up mind much

    Whos to blame

well if i was fern and been put in the same situation of not being a petrol head id say she done a decent job of at least startin th car and makin sure it started and ran. of she was genuinly out to get u it would have been another one of them sold as seen bullshit stories. Also against anyone sayin this is Ishaaq's fault as you cant blame someone for not knowing everything about a car. donor car was purchased and given to a company along with his own car to do a complete conversion and check over the doner engine, none of which seem to have been done to any decent level. Just like if u were to take your car to a garage to do a clutch and u pick it up and it still doesnt work, it would be straight to the boss. I see no difference. If your paying that kind of money just for stuff to be done to your car then its expected its done properly. I dont support people that are out to blame people but in this case it is is not Ishaaq's fault and it say its a bit of bad luck followed by what sounds like extremly bad customer service by TD. I've personaly never had any problems with TD but having work done and sending items is 2 different kettles of fish hope somthin good works out mate Russell
  23. i feel your pain dude. complete shite. bottom end is like the worst thing to go on a car. especially when uv only just got it finished as others have said in the other threads tho id definatly go with getting one rebuilt urself as apposed to buying another full engine. Although its slightly more expensive id say its definatly worth it dude as i cant even count how many people have bought a full engine for it to break on them. To be fair noone selling an engine is gonna say this engine hasnt been looked after and runs funny would u like to buy it. I know your finacially fucked to rebuild it but otherwise is almost certainly gonna be a waste of money. ill make a little list of parts ul need to do it :possible crank = £100 decent condition rods ( easier with pistons attatched) = £50 quid ish piston rings = £90 thrust washers =£ unsure main bearings = £ 60ish rod bearings = £60ish headbolts = £60 ish headgasket£unsure oil pump ( defo worth doing as that could have been the reason for the spun bearing) - £90 its alot of money but unless u can find someone that can definatly give u a good engine is say its the best option i hope that all those prices doesnt demoralise u . there all from my memory from what I've paid for stuff so might be more or less best of luck with this dude as it was going in a good direction . would be a shame to be forced into giving up. Russell
