EP82 TMD rear beam bushs / Defi EGT/ Cruise gear knob
Simon replied to abbott's topic in Starlet Parts For Sale
What else does the EGT gauge need to run mate? -
As there has been a few instances of fake mapped ECU come up i thought i would share these pictures. I brought a starlet that i knew had been modified in Japan there were no external fuel modifications that i could spot and this is how the ECU looked: Looks standard enough no stickers or seals but i was sure there was something done to the ECU so i opened it up: Here you can clearly see the daughter board that has been fitted to alow the use of a chip that can be written to form the specific map on that car. As far as i'm aware nobody has managed to connect to a stock toyota ecu and rewrite onto the chip that toyota fits thats why tuners have to oprn the ecu and solder the new daughter board in onto the motherboard. If you ever have doubts about an ECU ask for some pictures of the board this should prove it has been altered but not if it's still working or not.

Rota's are a direct copy of another companys work though. The Japanese manufactures spend a lot of money on coming up with these designs and also the majority of the wheels they produce are forged and not cast this makes the wheels stronger and lighter than a cast wheel but this is only really needed and wanted for people that want the best of the best for racing most OEM wheels are cast. Rota are offering a copy that is not of the same specification as the wheel they have copied but they still meet the JWL standards so are fine to use. They are one of the biggest manfactures of OEM wheels in the world next to Enkei this shows where there strength lies someone comes to them with a design and they put it into production they don't do any real design work themselves. It's the way of the world that when something is very pouplar but expensive people will find a way to copy that product and sell it cheaper it would just be nice to see some of the vast profit that rota are making go into coming up with a unique wheel design all of there own. If everybody brought rota wheels then the comanys like rays would be going out of business and then where would rota be with nothing to copy?

Other than for an all out track car i can't really see the point in the FRP doors and boot and if i was building an all out track car it wouldn't be a starlet. With all the copied stuff about the only rare parts are the Tom's EP91 stuff (apart from the front bumper) and the cruise front bumper oh and the varis rear spoiler

Has it been ended because soemone has made the seller a cash offer though? Guess only time will tell, will have to see if a "I've just brought a wedsport ecu" thread turns up.

Zep tended to use a sard wing on custom mounts there was one on the auctions the other month. Thats what the blue car used.

Very rare TRD EP91 carbon interior parts
Simon replied to Simon's topic in eBay, BidJDM, Yahoo Auction Finds
They sold for a insane 25,000 yen which is nearly £200 To add to that you would have a buyers fee, internal postage within Japan, auction fee and then postage to you from Japan. -
Ask him for some photos of inside the ecu will soon be able to tell if it has been altered then. All he has got to do is take the lid off.

I always use: http://www.willtheyfit.com/ As you can play with tyre sizes too

I think you would struggle to do this for any real benifit as you would really only be doing this for looks which i would guess would mean a low offset wheel. Considering most people struggle with an 8J ET10 a 9J wheel would have to be ET20-35 and will still need quite a bit of work and will always be a compromise.

Since i sold my ignition barrel light a few people have asked me for a wiring diagram. There are 3 wires to these lights: black - earth earth to the body Red/silver with a white stripe Red/silver These are wired in on a Glanza behind the pannel below the steering wheel. If you remove the air ducting you will find acess easier. On the right clipped to the body you will find a plug like this: The red/silver wire goes to this red wire in the above picture (please note the location not the wire colour as it looks like my car has a small extension harness between the plugs guess this is how toyota fitted the lights originally) Above is where the red/silver white stripe wire is connected. Down behind the kick pannel there is a factory earth point that you can use for the black earth wire. Please remember when buying these you need get the small control box with it this is what turns the light on and off to stop it draining your battery and staying on all the time when the door is closed. Hope this helps

Side exit hole and intercooler pipe hole repair PICS ADDED

A 98 spec splitter would cover a lot of that up -
http://page7.auction...tion/g114900242 I was used in the late EP82. Mixed flow turbine RHF5 Anchiragu ECU (SS crazy) Boost controller (Blitz DUAL-SBCSpecR) Fuel regulator (adjustable NISMO) Fuel pump (genuine CT9A Lancer) Injector (JZS100 genuine Tourer V) There is no pump and an injector in the picture (and I included. The above is a set. The engine body is also genuine exhaust manifold in the normal, straight 70 pi, and the muffler intercooler was using genuine CN9A. It was used in boost 160Ps Dynapac 1.6. Since additional ECU is the foundation have Teku align with the current car, can be rewritten again. Why do I take this opportunity because I think there is little in the ECU that contains genuine Anchiragu rewriting EP82? Dated Pong is not something that can be basically. It is part of a competition for those who are understanding to the prime mover.

Depends on the down pipe if it's on a stock cat, blitz de cat then thats what they use some others do also depends on if there is the recess for ir in the down pipe.

EP91 or EP82? The 91 will take a bit of a flare with a roll on the rear but you can't go too far due to the rear bumper mounting bracket but this can be trimmed back.
