  3. ^^^^agreed! time for a revamp and to take JAE by storm, like a mother f**king BOSS! Phil.
  4. ***new members beware, gratuitous UKSC man love is about to happen because I love Gaz...*** ^^^^the dates were reset when the original forum died buddy. think i was a member for about 2 days before it died lol. thats the only reason. Also, thank you for the offer to give your mod position to someone else man, I really appreciate that. You and your GT were an inspiration to me back in 05 and 06 with your painted water bottles lol, and you are proper UKSC to the core, which is why you would like to see a mod spot put to use and not taken up purely for a status thing, which I applaud you for. also, it annoys me greatly that we have never met in person at JAE. I hope some year, when we're both old grisly pricks, this will be fixed. that is a post of experience and old skool UKSC love right there. thanks dude! good to hear from you! Phil.
  5. Evening folks, Since owning my Alfa(s) I decided to join the Northern Ireland Italian Motors Club (NIIMC) as Mark was a member back when he had the Seicento and the Panda. Been to 4 of the monthly meetings now, great bunch of folk, and the veterans on here will remember me posting pics from their event in Cultra a number of years ago. Well, the club are having their annual All Ireland Italian Motor Event on 26th May at the Lisburn Civic Centre from 10am. Naturally there will be a wide range of Italian machinery from Alfas to Fiats to Ferraris to Lancias to Ducatis to Maserattis to Moto Guzzis and who knows what else. The Porsche Club have also asked if they can attend, as have the local Scooby guys. There will most likely be a number of other marques present, there always is, and I have heard rumours (weather dependent) of a Jag E-Type. There really could be anything! I've seen an Aventador here, maybe that'll show!!! Charles Hurst have also agreed to bring some of their speciality motors, so hopefully a shiny new Ferrari and Maser. Donnelly's I believe will also be bringing some motors. Autoglym and Meguires will also be in attendance along with Lisburn Auto Parts, and I believe that the local restaurant will be putting on a special Italian Menu for the event. Lisburn City Radio are promoting the event, a local station recently established. So, if you have a general petrol head interest or if you just fancy poking a Ferrari in the metal, then please come along for a nosey! I mean, who doesn't want to see an F430 16M in the metal!!!!! Any one with kids (this means you WeeJohn), what 8 year old boy doesn't want to see a Ferrari!!!! Unfortunately due to the wedding of a very close friend I am unable to attend, but I have been doing my bit to spread the word with flyers and posters, and a number of the BadgerSports Inc fleet will be there, including the V6 and/or the Barchetta (all being well and weather permitting). I have attached the flyer as a PDF file for anyone interested. Thanks for reading and if any of you local lads know of anyone who has anything interesting in their shed (rally car / vintage car / sports car) that they would like to bring for the day, please don't hesitate to spread the word and to get them to give me a shout. 6. winnings! Phil.
  7. lol u are SUCH a tease!!!! Phil.
  8. indeed, however, Blurple is a UKSC term coined by Riko666 when describing 8L5 "Blue Mica Metallic". 8L5 is alot darker / more purple than the Purplish blue. still a sweet colour in the sunshine tho!!!! Phil.
  9. you had a multi chamber fighter tank?? i am curious about this, was it one you made yourself?? as they aren't available for purchase anywhere. fighters are pretty hardy tbh - whitespot can be cured, they dont get black spot that i know of, popeye can be cured with water temperature and salt and extra water changes, swim bladder isn't contagious and there's not a thing you can do about it, fin curl doesn't kill them that i know of, which only leaves fin rot. and fin rot is pretty obvious to see, and can although contagious, it can be treated, although i haven't succeeded yet. so in theory, they shouldnt be that hard to keep. part of me suspects its the quality of the stock, some fish are simply better quality than others. Phil.
  10. nice system dude. however, to be pedantic, she aint blurple. Blurple is 8L5 (i.e. my colour). Yours is one of the UK blue colours. however, it does look sweet in the sunlight! i always get hopeful when i see someone say they have a blurple one as i'd love to see more. nice work dude, keep it up! Phil.
  11. LEWIS!!! IS THERE ANY CHANCE MATE!!!! flip sake!!! lol :P :P Phil.
  12. win! Phil.
  13. keep the input coming folks, this is the whole point of the thread, to bat this back and forth and find a way to make most folk happy. from my point of view, the primary aim has to be covering the running costs of UKSC. over the last few years we have grown like a weed, meaning we need bigger and better and more secure resources to host and run the show. this, naturally, has increased costs. back in the day, it was no problem for Geo to cover this when it was a matter of a few bob, however, now that it is substantially more than that, I dont think any of us would expect him to pay huge sums of money from his own pocket just so that we have somewhere to talk EPs and post pics of boobs. that would be fairly unreasonable tbh. Geo isn't talking about lining his pockets here, he said recoup some of the costs. he has stated that in recent months he is out £600....i cant imagine the grand financial sum over the last 8 years that he is out of pocket, for us. therefore, i have no problem contributing to keeping this place going as I have always said that the financial burden of UKSC should not fall on one person when so many people benefit so much from it. im not going to pay to work here, but I will contribute to keeping the lights on because of all UKSC has given me and continues to give me. lining his pockets is not the correct term, recouping some of the costs of UKSC is totally different than out and out profiteering. also - please, no more editing of other people's posts folks. this is an open discussion, the whole point is to hear all sides. Phil.
