    Jam Ecu

is there a rr down at race tech? need to see whats going on power wise, ive got a feeling this mani ive got on is a tad restrictive as i noticed straight away that it felt less responsive over the SV one.

    Jam Ecu

two questions to people that have a jam ecu o even blitz access etc etc what revs do they make the car idle at? ive had mine a while now and it seems to idle at about 1200 / 1400 rpm most of the time which i consider quite high and sometimes it will decide to idle below 1000 and im sure when i first fitted it it was idling below 1000rpm. maybe my choke not working properly or something? also has anyone had any experience with aftermarket ecus running lean? ive been putting off getting my fueling checked as the manifold i had on it was blowing and was waiting to get another fitted then g
  6. that will be your problem. if i were you id change distributor cap then if its not cured change all leads & plugs

  9. ^^^^ shiiit !!?? anyway what a set of plebs.......... probably owned a saxo.... CHAVS lol joooookeeee.. chill seriously though i reckon there just daft kids (14/15), that dont know how to drive and are playing with the newly purchased mot failure (not from UK but still) / farmers toy that gets him around his masses of land, whilst dad is away buying sheep and the lark. ohhhh and i bet its still running sweet as a nut ;) Carl
  10. yeh its making itself look big to intimidate the other owls. i.e puffing up, but obviously when they bring that bigger owl, when it puffs up its still gonna be smaller than the bigger owl puffed up so it makes itself look bigger by stertching itself upwards instead lol
  11. p.s/ im fine with boost control, im just using hks actuator to set boost to .9 bar and it creeps to 1 bar
  12. dontttttt be sillyyyyyy i know im not saying that i saying i didnt think i needed a fpr if im not running a fcd (ive got a jam ecu, so i dont need to up the fuel pressure to make it run rich) that correct?
  13. i havent got a fpr.... didnt think it was needed with a jam ecu. just needed with fcd's
  14. ive got genuine gaskets on at minute (been on for about 2 month) might reuse them with them not been too old. by the way im not really that concerned about the manifold cracking when im asking if its safe. more with the restriction side of things compared with an aftermarket one. i dont want my engine to bang basically
  15. wrong link bud i know which thread your on about anyway ive read it about 5 times over but couldnt find a good enough answer lol. i want a definate answer from someone who has run one compared to an aftermarket one for a long period of time
  16. Afternoon lads, bit of advice please Just bought Socks ported standard mani (Cheers Matt) Would like advice from anyone in the know. can i run 1 bar through it? is it 100% safe???? and will it give me the same performance as a tubular mani like Japspeed, SV & autobahn etc (without the instant cracking lol) Im currently running an SV manifold @ 1 bar (but its blowing from somewhere) Jam ecu rx7 intercooler gutted cat hks silent power exhaust system

    Career Change?

thats what it was like for me anyway where i work. i did nvq level 1 and 2 at a training centre. then started work and did level 3, now im starting level 4. Level 5 is management i think

    Career Change?

i fink its something like 600 quid for a years course on day release at national certificate level. but that will be mostly theory i think. i rekon nvq is most hands on i believe and you can do them at training centres and some colleges that have garages, and you can do level 1 & 2 without working as a mechanic

    Career Change?

ive always fancied been a mechanic, always messin with mine n gettin pretty confident with what im doing these days and i always think it would be nice to do a job i was interesting in. but as said above i think it may be a bit of a hobby killer to do it as a day job. i wouldnt mind going on a hands on mechanical course though, just for the sake of messin with my own car abit more. stuff like changing clutch nd cambelt which i darent bring myself to risk trying. got too much going on with work sending me on day release at university to do a degree in engineering manufacture though.
  22. good idea. looks good mate. just to point something out ive just noticed when skimming through the text. on the driving schools page. first sentence "There are many driving instructors, but make sure you find the write one for you" youve put 'write' instead of 'right' not tryin to pick faults just thought id let you know if u hadnt noticed.
  23. mine judders pulling away aswell. i believe its the clutch on the way out as above. very annoying because it stops me been able to hammer it from a stand still.
