i second that. they are a bastard to get off if theyve never been off before.. granted. but a garage should have no problem all they need i the right tools (which they should have.. being a garage duhh lol) and a bit of patience... maybe a few swear words. i had to run about in my dads car to a few hardware stores to find a good offset spanner, that i then bent to the perfect shape to fit the front of the engine bay so i could get a pipe on it. and even with a pipe on it i had to reallllly swing on it to crack them off but as i said, a garage should have no problem what so ever with all the specialised tools theyve got.

i now it sounds stupid but have you checked all the fuses? and i would say it probably gonna be cheaper to take the car to a auto-electrician for them to look at it for you rather than mess about converting it to manual.
