then if your in a crash or a traffic officer that knows what a turbo looks like pops the bonnet thats 6 points and your car crushed not worth the risk sad thing is its idoits trying this that actauly make it cost more for people to insure there cars properly
-
probaly get away with it on a n/a if its just for looks. mate wants a set on his golf and always showing pictures of peoples different set ups good if your into that sorta thing but most people are drawn to starlets for there power rather than just stance and looks

new gaskets, 5e pistons/rods,clutch,flywheel and head
_shaun_ replied to _shaun_'s topic in Starlet Parts For Sale
yea seems to be alot of people doing forged 5es atm aswell which doesnt help lol -
yea they crack realy easy. decat will make it slightly louder but shouldnt be that much of a diffrence. never herd of a road side emissions test tho u would most likely fail that
-
would just port it urself nice and simple, the stock engine will be more than capable, might be worth banging a uprated fuel pump in for bit of safety. but other than that wont have to touch the fueling. only thing to stay clear of is the autobahn or toyosport manifolds/decats and make sure u use proper toyota gaskets aswell farrrr to many people buying cheap gaskets off ebay and they last bout a week if your lucky.

yea the arcs are ment to be a nice improvement over stock. the plug and play ecus are pretty poorly described as self learning they are bascily set with no fuel cut /raised rev limit and would have had certain mods such as air filter, exhaust, higher boost level took in to account when it was maped then when u plug them in they can trim the fuel slightly to your set up.for safety u prob would want to get it on the rolling road and check fueling but i never did for a few months and mine was fine i used a blitz access it was great dont think theres much difference between the diffrent plug and pla

to be honest when i first joined i knew nothing about starlets or the workings on most turbo cars. now am in the process of building my own engine and its down to this site. the reason i donated to start was because the site is easily worth it. paying to sell on the site i agree with but for buying i dont think its such a great idea that would then limit the audience your actauly selling to and if your just looking for a little cheap bit for your car u might have to pay more for the ability to buy it than the actual part costs. good to see you back geo hope you will be back on more often no

hmm lots of options from stock depends if your wanting to keep the tmic or go down fmic. u could bang on a air filter get a plug and play ecu and it would make nice little change. personaly before u get a adjustable actuator ull want to get rid of the stock manifold before the restrictions in it are pretty mental ( jam do a manifold that looks just like the stock manifold but with no restrictions but its pretty rare to find) everyone has there own option on what the best way is but for me i would get plug and play ecu aftermarket manifold and decat and route the air filter to the front bumpe

fensport used to do the blitz release bearings but havent had any in stock for awhile -
i must say ive had deals with ian a few times and never had any issues been realy helpful to me and paid the prices quoted at the start. but to be honest if a head gasket is gone it baffles me as to why u wouldnt get it skimed as a precaution. id probaly strip the engine myself and inspect it myself to see if u can see any issues with it if u can id certialy try do as much as u can urself it will save u fair bit in the long run

its cheaper than weprs hybrid kit yea but thats a diffrent turbo for a higher power application. if u got it as a stock td04 turbo it would work out cheaper with wepr. not trying to say a bad word about the race-tech kits i wouldnt swap mine its bloody bomb proof. and not trying to swap his option on what kit to get if he can afford to pay extra to get the race-tech kit he wouldnt be dissapointed but i find it hard for someone to claim its the cheapest option
-
not 100% sure what cars they came from so i could be wrong about it out the ep95 but as morgey says should make less power with the 4efte internals?
-
dont doubt the race-tech kit as one of the best but i dont think u could ever claim it to be close to the cheapest lol
-
prob worth sticking it on ebay only take 2 tom's whores to get bidding on it make a few quid
-
that scoops actauly an uber rare tom's scoop never actauly seen one in the uk but that might be cause its a bit ugly lol. positive this was the glanza i wanted to view before i got mine about 2 years ago but it got sold before i had the chance to see it

Standard clutch - How much punishment (bhp) can it take?
_shaun_ replied to Taggy's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
also u will have to get a new flywheel seems pointless to change flywheels but not uprate the clutch at the same time i think u just have an addiction to taking your engine out the car -
if u want the 100bhp from a 4efe drop streetracer_starlet a pm he has a jdm 4e sitting around he doesnt need u would just have to work out how to pick it up from glasgow. but personaly id just get a turbo lump
