The tyre takes most of the impact and shock loading during cornering, so if you corner hard you may want to try a tyre with a harder sidewall. Unless your a penis that aims for pot holes then any wheel does the job and most just go by how the wheel looks. Check out the wiki section Socks made a thing in there to do with alloys and how light they are.

I wouldn't risk filling up with jerry cans tbh, not in a performance motor. Fuel goes off pretty quick unless contained in the right conditions so could potentially do some harm. Why not use supermarket 97-99 ron fuel? Surely you must have a supermarket closer than 25 miles, and its cheaper.

Ah I see, if you really wanted to you could drill a hole and put it back into the air pipe, but tbh thats more hassle than its worth and will most likely just cause problems. You'll be better off to either get another standard airbox or just leave it to vent, put a longer pipe on it and cable tie it down the engine bay near a wheel to get rid of any fumes.

You can run individual coils no problem just using the OEM dizzy triggers, although there is more cost as you have to buy extra coils depending on your ignition setup. I know what you mean, we pay over the odds for a 5E here unless your lucky to find a deal, some people even buy the whole car! I've got a Motec to fit mate, I spent a lot of time researching into what ecu to run, I narrowed it down to Haltech or Link that was reasonable cost wise and still provided good enough control for what I needed. Or if I wanted to spend big money then Syvecs or Motec, but it just so happened a Motec c

Basically take a sample of the coolant to see if there is any CO in it.
-
Hmm have you checked a manual for the car? There must be something to illustrate where it goes to? I can't imagine thats standard. Does it have another top end breather as well?
-
Let us know how you get on mate, would be interesting to see a starlet run one of these
-
Sounds like its just got a 1 way valve on it. Its fine to leave as it is. You can just plumb it to recirc back into the intake manifold if you wish.
-
You can use the stock triggers from the dizzy no problem, that will support sequential ignition. You'll deffo have to swap out the map sensor and TPS to a variable unit. I'd also personally swap out the AIT for a more fast response unit. The Emerald doesn't support Knock control so theres one sensor you can get rid of as it'll be no use. The only sensors you need to run the Emerald are : RPM trigger AIT CTS MAP Lambda You don't need to run a TPS as it can use the Map sensor as load, although it will run both.

Jamie's Glanza V *SOLD PLEASE LOCK*

Looking good mate. Did you waxoil the arches or just paint them? -
Spark plugs, oil change, clean air filter, check leads, rotor arm, dizzy cap. Just check all the usual perishable items really.
-
The sensors themselves aren't that expensive to buy, well not over here anyway might be different for you.
-
Thats bad mate, can't believe they couldn't see their own mistake? I know on their site is says to make sure the items are the correct items for the correct car before you buy, but that obviously wasn't the case that needed to be resolved here. Atleast you got it sorted in the end though, we know to stay away from Russell Hobbs lol.
-
Sounds like an actuator problem if it still the stock item
-
Did you put fresh oil in? It may just be condensation depends how long the engines been sat.
-
Emerald is a very good and capable unit, but I do believe you'll have to pretty much swap out all of the OEM sensors to get it running properly. It's only as good as the guy with the laptop though, even a megasquirt could make a Motec look silly in the right hands.

Try and stay away from buying stuff oversea's, you'll either end up with a duff product or get stung with tax. Something will come up eventually
-
Well I checked it out on the Greddy website, it was like $525 which is like £350.
-
Haha no probs mate, other than that they are a straight fit.

AVCR on ebay atm £280. Have seen em go cheaper though its just finding them. That new Profec looks alright though!
-
You'll have to count the splines mate
-
Nah mate they are a non-interference design engine, but like I say if the head has been skimmed or a thinner headgasket has been used this will reduce the clearence somewhat. Although I wouldn't recommend just driving until the belt snaps
-
Heard good things about them mate. Yeah they are 254/255 I believe.
-
Nothing, their non-interference engines, meaning the valves have sufficient clearence to not hit the pistons. Although if the head has been skimmed this may change the clearence.
