  1. I have known brand new release bearings to be stuffed, its a pain in the ass to have to take the gearbox back off though. Although its not so bad on a starlet. Seem's like your in a bit of a shit situation mate, might be worth asking Mike if they can just take another look as your not happy with the way the car is. Are you far away from them?
  2. I've never been a fan of these setups tbh, but I can understand why the gap is that big. Material expands as it gets hot so it will close the gap slightly, however 2mm? Only Ricky will know if the gap will close that much as its his material. Do have to say, it does look the dogs tits
  3. Nah I highly doubt it would be the shaft bearing if it was fine when it went in. To me anyway it sounds something to do with the release bearing or the slave cylinder.
  4. Yeah the Quaife is a lot of money to buy.
  5. The release bearing would make it hard to select gears yeah. Who replaced the clutch mate? I'd take it back to them and get them to sort it. Drop yaristurbo a pm mate, he works for a transmissions place so he'll deffo be able to give you an answer.
  6. No the plates. We can get the plates over here for about £200.
  7. If its making a noise when the clutch pedal is depressed then thats the release bearing. There's only a couple of clutches that make that noise and I've never heard of the Spec clutch doing it before. Blitz and ORC Ogura are the main ones which make a like rattling noise. Another problem that sometimes happens with aftermarket clutches is that the slave rod creates drag, to overcome this a longer slave rod needs to be fitted. Only ever heard of this problem with Competition clutches, but am sure theres others that have the problem.
  8. Every like 60,000km the need a rebuild if used on the road.
  9. Yeah the quaife has lifetime warranty, but I wouldn't let that be the decision to choose an LSD. They very rarely go wrong. The clutch type LSD's many drivers prefer as they offer more feel and give better traction. But the quaife is easier to live with on a day to day basis as its silent.
  10. Because Quaife have the advantage of never having to rebuild the diff as they are ATB Helical type. Where as Kaaz are a clutch type LSD and require rebuilding every race season. Plus you pay for the name.
  11. The shaft bearing has no impact on the way gears are engaged or disengaged. The shaft bearings are there to simply support the load of the shaft. Could be a few things : Fluid change Slave cylinder Release bearing Selector fork
  12. LOL legend! It's cool man I can take a joke, I must be Hitler then? Our letterboxes have like a door on them, so probably not a bad idea! I got plenty of mealworms that I could make use of as their too small for my lizard to even see
  13. Did you get the bores honed to suit new rings? You would only have to turn the boost down to 0.8 bar mate, at least it would rule out the ecu. Deffo check the timing, did the guy on the dyno not say anything was wrong or it was low power etc? I would do a compression/leak down test as well if you can, just to rule out any internal engine problems.
  14. Here mate : http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showthread.php?27568-4EFTE-Torque-Specs
  15. lol nah she's far from a milf. She's a chav who wears these printed leggings, mainly flower type and as round as a football.
  16. When you say rebuilt what did you actually do? I would be looking more torwards the timing side of things, did you have a standard ecu you could chuck back on?
  17. Who built the engine? I'd check the cam timing first.
  18. They are the same but you need to make sure the spline count is correct. Just pull the ABS ring off and put it on the new shaft, sometimes they are stuck on there though and can be hard to get off. I believe Toyota still sell them if you get totally stuck.
  19. Ay don't get me wrong, if your trying to work then fair play. But people that don't bother or can't be bothered get everything handed to them. Grant's right, the people that work are living life in the wrong way, people that have kids young, don't have a job get everything. I worked 40 hours a week and still went to uni full time, but I can't afford to have a kid and I can't afford take aways every other day, afford all the posh brands and shit. Turning into some Jeremy Kyle shit
  20. Check out their section, they have a template you can print off and check against your wheels
  21. lol I think its you guys that need to chill out, I never said I was going to do anything malicious. She's never had a job, she gets her rent, council tax, water all paid for by myself. Pays for weed out of my money that I've earned, the car is on finance which yet again is paid for by myself. She doesn't have a bf because he left her about a month after the kid was born, and I'm not suprised.
  22. Is a TRD unit after checking RHD. http://www.rhdjapan.com/trd-mechanical-lsd-limited-slip-differential-corolla-levin-trueno-starlet-vitz-18994 http://www.rhdjapan.com/cusco-type-mz-lsd-diff-ae-4ag-ep-4e-2e-11732
  23. Providing you have some mechanical knowledge its fine. Take pics of every stage, keep things in order, label things if you need to. Just stay organised and its a doddle really. The timing is a piece of cake, nothing to worry about, and if you get it wrong it won't do any damage what so ever as they are a non-interference engine. Whats your setup? You'll most likely be fine running a stock gasket. Make sure to get the head skimmed though.
  24. Nah thats fine, you could remove the filter and put a line back to the manifold with a PCV inlet but you don't have to.
  25. I don't believe the auto was ever offered with an LSD option tbh.
