Where do i stand with this ? Legal Issue.
AdamB replied to Chris_GlanzaV98's topic in Lifestyle General
Isn't 280bhp the norm nowadays though? Just check out the power leadboard and check to see how many there are running td04's 250-285bhp. -
Drop him a text mate 07779 415207

They are a pain to get hold of. Try Tim@TBdevelopments, he deals with wiseco and he got my bits from America.

Check the rod ends, little end and big end. If its taken some hard abuse then any wear will show up on the ends of the rods. It's only the piston rings that have any contact with the cylinder, there may well be some markings on the piston, but providing its not scored or look like its been cut then it'll be fine
-
There shouldn't be any wear on the piston. Just check the rod ends and make sure they are not scored or marked
-
You'll be best off getting new rings for the pistons mate.

That come up a treat with a good detail! Super clean

I've heard a few people running without a lambda sensor with no issues what so ever and the ecu still fueling spot on.
-
This is true, but the Wossner pistons still use the highest silicone content out of all the pistons I've ever seen for the E series engines. A couple mm depth will be plenty, but obviously its easier to judge when its there infront of you. Expansion rates are very minimal, although you do have to remember that the higher the rev limit, the more the rod stretches.

Easy bruvs.. Removing front discs what's the crack?
AdamB replied to iamlegend's topic in Lifestyle General
Sometimes can be easier to remove the carrier as well, although not necessary -
You'll know exactly what to do when you fit the rods to the crank and rotate it. You can then judge how much material needs to be taken off the bottom of the cylinder.

Anytime mate

Scat you do, bit hit and miss with Pec from what I've read. Pauter you don't.
-
Like I said, its the first problem I've actually heard of of the Pec rods, although I have heard from quite a few people that their quality control is lacking somewhat. I wouldn't let it be enough to put anyone off buying their products, as they have had a number of happy customers. Although I agree with Phil, if you want the best its Pauter all the way, unless you fancy spending quite a bit on some custom Carillo's. Although other brands have been proved time and time again. All down to preference really at the end of the day, have heard scat/Pec are a bit of a pain to balance.

Tbh I don't think the lambda sensors do very much on these engines. Worth a swap though. Whats your setup? If your still running stock boost pressure just run the stock fuel pressure 2.4 bar/34 psi. It's best to run rich slightly, but not too much or you'll get bore wash.

That engine was stripped by Tim @TBdevelopments, here's what he had to say about it : "no this was the worst one of 4 after a major failure. All 4 conrods had very slight bends in them only running slightly above stock power. Because of the bends it caused the bearing to overload on 1 side leading to bearing failure. This one was the first one to majorly fail where the bearing grabbed, spun then welding itself to the crank causing that huge bend and then pushing itself out the side of the engine block casing. all 4 bearings were in a state of failure, but this one was the first to grab and

Hmm true. The only person I know to have them is Harry from Oz. Maybe drop him a PM or if your over on AUStarlet then drop him one over there as he's more active. I know he had his rivetted in place though, but may still know the thickness and what thickness poly he used.
-
Can get them on ebay for a few quid mate

Think the box is around the 40kg mark mate.

Thread was posted the other day about people using forged con rods from China and people were going to buy them. They crop up in the for sale section quite often, usually Cusco items. Looking around the £40-60 mark depending on condition. Tegiwa also is another company which sells them, but I have heard them ones are a pain in the ass to fit.
-
I've heard that its not worth the extra to have the TRD pack, although if you want some JDM points and possibly something to hold onto as they will become rare eventually then I suppose I can see the extra value in it.
-
I was getting it even though I was trying to access from my bookmarks though? Not that it matters now lol.
-
Doesn't matter what the thickness is, don't they have to be riveted on anyway?
