I can't seem to set mine. Using the same pic as before but it saying its failed to upload. Tried copying the URL from photobucket and it says it cannot contact the server?

Yeah but would depend what volume he gets from the chambers. Does make sense but your CR is still high, that's why I think they may have the chamber volumes wrong. I did read somewhere that there's a 3cc difference between 4E and 5E heads, but obviously when porting this doesn't matter anyway.

Toyota mate. Can't remember the size but it is floating around somewhere if you do a search, probably over on TGTT. I think camskill may also do them.
-
Yes you can, but they don't link together. Just connect an EBC using the supplied instructions.

Hmm tricky one, me being anal personally wouldn't touch anything thats been sold by the douche. Yet again D2's have been known to leak etc when old. Maybe sell the DGR's and have more money for more car parts?
-
Personally I wouldn't use it. The fakes probably don't get tested to any standards etc. Some people have used them before and not had any issues, some have had issues previously. It depends how much you value your engine really mate.

Fake, Do not buy parts from ebay. You only have to see where it's located

I know mate, it's weird, sick an tired of looking at a heap of metal though lol. Thanks mate, I'll look into that a bit more tomorrow. My dad swears by something called jenolite but doing a quick google search a lot of people say its not that good and the rust comes back pretty quickly afterwards.

AdamB replied to mikey4410's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
Just checked the manual mate and the size marks are on both the piston and block deck. Different piston and cylinder bore sizes are used. Piston diameter and cylinder bore diameter are determined by size mark ("1", "2" or "3") stamped on top of piston and cylinder block deck surface -

Believe its marked on the deck of the block mate. I wouldn't just assume as some engines have various different sizes for each cylinder. -
Thanks buddy. For some reason I've had something come over me and I just can't keep away from the car atm
-
You'll have to bond them on mate.

Ask him what volume he gets with the 5EFE combustion chamber.

I've seen the PCV give similar problems before, but it does close under boost, meaning you only have the one breather working. It's just a one way check valve, believe you should be able to blow through one end and not the other like. Although if you pull it out, you'll likely have to get a new one as they tend to break quite a lot. I'd also do a compression test just to make sure.

Finally got off my ass and done some more to the car, and have finally finished removing all the paint from the rear. Then I removed all the seam sealant which I couldn't get at with the wire brush, using acetone and a scothbrite I went over all the area's around the outside and tried to get into the seam as much as possible to remove any of the glue residue that was left behind. I then gave it a quick wipe over with a sponge and dried off to remove any dust that has been left over. http://s164.photobucket.com/user/BoobZ18/media/Toyota%20Starlet%205E%20Build/2013-07-26135343_zpsd626386

Try and get hold of some PTFE tape mate for the thread into the block

Make sure you set the tyre pressures mate. I ran them on the rear of my GT with 30psi and going in a straight line it felt really light, but round corners they were pretty damn good.

Welcome along, Your guys over there do build some mental machines

Welcome along

You still running a PCV mate? Failing that it's down to a cylinder sealing issue as to why there's too much crank case pressure.
-
No idea mate, maybe they haven't got the chamber size correct, maybe they are thinking its larger than it actually is. I've read countless times its 38cc, some even down to 37cc with a skim. So I think its best to measure it with a burette to find out exactly what it is at then you can be sure on how much material you need to take off. I reckon you should be able to get to around 41-42cc quite easily, but have to be careful not to grind into any waterways. Life's so much easier with dished pistons

It does look a bit moist around that area, but if its not coming from any further up then it sells itself really. The Athena gaskets have been known to leak there, but 9/10 they will seal themselves on that corner.
