  1. I don't think it ever ran Nitrous, but did use race fuel, what brand I don't think was ever said. Might be worth trying to get hold of Darren and asking him? Or maybe even Josh.
  2. You'll prob want heat range 7's. It's a bit trial and error, always start with the largest gap then if it missfires then make the gap smaller.
  3. You'll need an external wastegate compatible manifold, decat comes with most kits you buy. The spring depends on what boost you plan on running, but if you have a boost controller then you can't set boost lower than the spring pressure.
  4. They don't hold boost stable at all. Just use an adjustable actuator to set the boost then, get an EBC when you can as they are far superior.
  5. 1.1mm. The largest gap possible, but it depends on your engine spec and what kinda condition the rest of your ignition system is in.
  6. Yeah I see it's just mainly for the Tercel's but it would be being American. I know of another good company in the states which do a lot of bits for the E series on the cheap as well. Ay I've seen the head and its terrible, loads of little dotted bumps everywhere that deffo needs some work. Will go well if they are flat tops with that high CR lol.
  7. That is plain stupid, the fan and the plastic cowling covers like 60% of the radiator if using a small type rad like the civic.
  8. Have to be a paid member now mate. Go to the store for membership, only like £2 I think.
  9. I found a lot of stuff to do with tercel's, Paseo, but nothing to do with the starlet or 4E through Alamo though? Unless I'm looking in the wrong place Am sure you'll be fine with something around 8.5-8.8:1 really. Most mass production leaves a lot of casting, its worth just spending some time with the block and head to see what you can and can't do. Are you going to be running a standard inlet as well? Might be worth paying that some attention as well Drop you a PM about the lifters mate Here's a quick CR work out for you. CR = (CV+CCV) / CCV CV = 1517cc / 4 CV = 379.
  10. It is still possible to get wastegate chatter/compressor surge with a recirc or any other form of valve for that matter.
  11. That turbo is not a a T3 off a cosworth for sure. The cosworth used genuine Garrett T series turbo's, the Escort cosworth came with a T34, and the Sierra came with a T31.
  12. The problem being is that it doesn't seem to be a genuine Garrett/ Precision or any other big branded turbo manufacturer, so its worth is a packet of haribo I'm afraid. In terms of boost control, it can be regulated by the use of a dump valve/blow off valve to regulate regulate the compressor rpm, this method isn't used very often these days though. The T3 turbo's are very large and depdning on the trim sizes some are good for upto around the 650bhp mark, this was what Spuddy was running on his GT.
  13. Just the standard recirc valve I would imagine.
  14. For a fresh import is probably around £3500 if they imported it themselves. Agree the engine is the most expensive part on the car, but I see a lot of engines on ebay for like £900 which will never sell and it's mad to pay that kinda price. £5-600 tops for a good working low mileage engine. The rest of the car is worth nothing really and it will just be little tickets of money £30 here and £50 there. Such a waste. Might message him back and just say I'll give you £1200 for the whole car and get it out your hair.
  15. Got a message back from the person breaking that 99 spec on ebay : "Hi, This is a straight car nothing wrong with it, i dont sell full cars onl break them for parts regards"
  16. Yeah thats possible. The clutch is only 200mm though instead of 212mm, and I think its pretty hard to find aftermarket/uprated clutches for the N/A.
  17. It is a shame. I've messaged the seller asking if there's anything wrong with the car and would he sell it whole. Don't see the point in spending all that time to buy and import one to just break it over here. Its a 99 spec as well so it says. Ay I got nothing to say on that pal lol. I needed the space as I was getting a white shell, it's just a shame that good cars are just basically being weighed in. Plenty of spares floating about for these motors and it doesn't take much to get one going again. It's on ebay now and looks a right fucking mess
  18. Ah fair enough. You would be suprised mate, I've removed all the sealant from mine and it doesn't take much for it to flex at all, its a little tighter around the strut tops but its pretty weak at the bottom of them and around the rest of the panels. Ay I know that, but the sealant is there to hold them together to absorb harshness to stop transfering it to the body. Besides the spot welds are too far apart anyway making the panels very easy to flex.
  19. Yes mate the auto is 4 pin
  20. TGTT, UKSC, piston heads, auto trader, ebay, gumtree.
  21. Yeah just get hold of a second hand OEM crank pulley. Do a search, there's plenty of info on how to set the cam timing.
  22. You'll need : 5E block 5E/3E crank 5EFE/5EFHE con rods 4EFTE Pistons 4EFTE headgasket/Aftermarket 3E flywheel 4EFTE oil filter housing 4EFTE thermostat housing 4EFTE engine gasket kit 5E front and rear crank seals 4EFTE Or 5E head, but you need to use 4EFTE valve springs Then the usual turbo, inlet, exhaust etc. You'll also need some form of engine management and fueling mods.
  23. I've used camskill and ebay with no issues at all
