I believe you can buy direct from Tial yes mate. But all turbo companies in the UK should be able to supply them. Owen Developments, Turbo Dynamics, as well as others I'm sure. Owen Developments is just round the corner from me, so if someone wants me to supply the housing I can do so at an extra cost. -

Use stock boost pressure 0.6 bar and retard the ignition timing to 6 BTDC, since its a larger engine you will have to increase fuel pressure, as well as accomodate the extra flow of the turbo.

You guys crack on, like I said its your motor. You won't be able to maximize anything without changing the turbo because the ct9 turbine is the restriction. Would be more beneficial in terms of time and gains to just fit a water injection kit.

If they are working in a well established place why arn't they charging you for it? The dyno is a tuning tool, numbers is pub talk. Like I said its your motor at the end of the day, but of course its going to be faster after doing some mods to it. Will need comparing to a similer spec engine to be of any comparison.

Flow is not always better. You could have a head that flows 1000 CFM, and a head that flows 700 CFM, if the fuel is not atomised in the air you will lose power. Your engine at the end of the day, but from an engine builders view, you will lose low down and mid range response and power.

You answered your own statement there mate. Porting the head isn't necessary when running a ct9/hybrid if thats the turbo you choose to run. The head was developed by Yamaha and flows very well compared to some heads i've seen.

Ross and JE pistons are engraved underneath the dome. Wiseco's have a large dish and intake valve cut outs. Wossner I can't comment on other than they have a small if not virtually flat top dished dome, they also have large valve cut outs.

There is less stress on the engine with a larger turbo simply because its more efficient. I wouldn't worry about the horror stories, I've had 2 engines, both running ct9's let go on me at stock boost. Would deffo recommend a programmable management though, so much smoother and safer.

Will only increase lag because theres a larger volume to fill. If you wanna fiddle with the head get a 3 angle valve cut on the valve seats and look into oversized valves. Porting a head has got really nothing to do with removal of metal, cylinder head work is 95% shaping, 5% material removal.

Stock gearbox with stock rev limit is able to do 176mph I believe. Raising the rev limit and changing tyres will also effect the top speed. I wouldn't worry too much, you'll need about 420bhp to get near 176mph.

Save your money from porting and polishing a head. Not needed unless your going to run 350bhp +

I agree, and not many people want to spend more on a black box so to speak, they know nothing about or how it works which costs more than they paid for the car! It does all come down to the tuner at the end of the day, DTA offers some good options for the price, but is far from the best ecu. Most standalones don't even offer knock control unless a seperate unit is brought. Some say that knock control is needed if the map is good enough, but a 10 degree change in temp could be all it takes for the engine to start knocking its tits off. I've been into standalone ecu's for the last 4 or 5 years

Couldn't be further from the truth tbh. If that was the case everyone on every car would be running DTA's because their cheap. Comparing the likes of DTA to KMS/Haltech/Link/Life racing etc is like chalk and cheese. They have completely different sensor control and calibration setups, different processing power, different scaling etc etc. Agree with this, only reason to choose one ecu over another is if your going to use the features and other options it has to offer. If you plan on looking after an expensive engine, why skimp on the most important part by fitting an ecu that can be picked

Whats the total volume of the intake? Will you be able to offer varying volumes and runner diameters/lenghts? -
Every ecu is slightly different. Its all down to the software and what the mapper likes to use. DTA, Omex are okay but not the best. But are the cheapest. Best ecu's on the market at the moment are Life Racing and Pectel, but expect to pay £2000 just for the ecu alone.

Choose your tuner, they will choose the ecu. No point you choosing an ecu and find no one is familier with it and you end up with a shit map.

As I said in the other thread, any less than 150psi it would be time for a rebuild. Stock is 180psi.

Sounds ok but sounds like the cylinders are pretty worn. Stock compression pressure is 180psi. If it goes any less than 150psi it would be time for a rebuild.

Exact reason, although I wouldn't want to run without a dump valve on my expensive turbo. On cheap turbos that can be picked up for next to nothing and easily available I wouldn't worry. Compressor surge puts stress on the thrust bearings in the turbo.
