It's the only real thing I can think of, unless there was something you done with the head, but I doubt that. -

oil light flickers when idle need help asap
AdamB replied to lukeglanzav's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
Check for vac leaks around the intake manifold if you took that off, and around intercooler joiners. -

Ah was interested in the engine, but shipping will probably be a bit killer lol what did you think I was after? -
Whats the part number on the CHRA? The GT35 doesn't come with an exducer diameter of 71mm. The smallest exducer size on the GT35 is 76.6mm. I think its a GT3071R.

Where you located mate? -
Ah I see lol. It may well work, tbh am not 100% sure as I think most people just tend to buy car specific rails or make customs ones using the original rails. There is a few people using Omp, Corbeau seats so they may be better people to answer.

Remove the timing belt covers and you will be able to see much more clearly. These seals seem to be getting more and more common now so I would probably guess at either the oil pump or crank seal, but best to replace both while your at it.
-
That may work, but that doesn't look like a rail for an EP, the rear part of that rail looks to be like a custom part. I may be wrong but it looks very different to my recaro rails.
-
No mate, they look as though they are designed to be a fixed position. Will require a custom mounting seat frame to bolt them to.
-
I could well be wrong and they just haven't explained it properly, that's the way it comes across to me anyway as I know harmonic balancing is something to do with frequencies. They recommend changing the bearings at 30k intervals to maintain a good condition crank, remembering its cheaper to replace a set of shells than it is a crank, so it's little cost to pay for something that has such significance.

Fuck, I think even Babelfish would have trouble with translating that!

The headgasket can go on two ways. But it won't affect the compression, you'll just have a monsoon of an oil leak. If you've lost compression on all 4 cylinders then it's unlikely to be something you've done with the head, that would be very unlucky. I still reckon the timings out 180 degrees. -
Thought the same mate. Can't quite tell from the pics but with the reps the bride logo is cut in half on the back support. The person that would know is Lewis

oil light comes on wen on tick over need help asap
AdamB replied to lukeglanzav's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
If your idle is low it will cause the light to flicker because there is little oil pressure. Your best bet is to figure out why it's idling low, vac leak etc, idle control valve etc. -
Maybe try ringing your local DVLA office and just asking them for confirmation.

I have seen plenty of cars over here on Irish plates, but I don't know much about it, I remember someone asking the same thing over on TGTT and they said its the same as importing a car from Japan. I do believe the police aren't able to track the number plates either.
-
Yes you will. It will be the same process if you were to import a car from Japan, or anywhere else in the world for that matter. https://www.gov.uk/importing-vehicles-into-the-uk/registering-an-imported-vehicle http://www.direct.gov.uk/prod_consum_dg/groups/dg_digitalassets/@dg/@en/@motor/documents/digitalasset/dg_199220.pdf

This is the engine oil yes? Does it come on and stay on, or does it flicker? If it flicker's it's most likely the oil pressure switch on the front of the block, located next to the exhaust manifold. -

You sure the timing isn't 180 degrees out? I would double check. -
Ah my mistake!

Use a standard 4EFTE one and get the whole rotating assembly static and dynamically balanced. The Fensport ones are only "Harmonically Balanced" That doesn't say its actually a damper pulley. I don't think there has been any known faults, however it will reduce the life of the thrust bearings. Spuddy ran a lightweight crank pulley on his, but his engine got pulled apart quite often for bearing replacement so can't really compare. That said, how many people do you know replace their ACL bearings at the recommended 30k Km interval?
