  1. Yep, once your over 25 years old and the car is over 20 you can get classic jap insurance on a second vehicle via Autoline in Northern Ireland. They dont offer a standard policy to the south but their classic policy does cover the south.
  2. Your just going to have to decide which car you want to drive.. atm having two cars is expensive, never mine one being an over 10 year old jap turbo.
  3. Well for ecumaster Cost-Lower than most for much more features Reliability - only saw one fail when injectors with incorrect impedance where wired in (ecumaster repaired the damaged drivers for free of charge) Software updates - Ecumaster are constantly updating their products. most recent was a few weeks ago, giving the Standalone the ability to individually control injection angle. The tuner distance and reputation are the only things that would worry me. If you know what ecu you want to use then go for it and find a reputable tuner that will work with what YOU want. its YOUR car, not the
  4. Yeah and I road map my own cars and I have used the software for emanage, aem, megasquirt, ecumaster and its all near enough the same. Yeah you have to spend 20mins getting used to the new interface and how it works with your car but going from each one to the next is like getting into a different car. They all have their own little quirks but if you can drive, you can drive anything.
  5. Not too bad, could have been worse. Especially seeing as that was basically the cars first proper test since you sorted all the other bits. You will get there in the end
  6. No companies will start a new policy on a jap especially over 10 years old. Transfer is the only way and liberty seem to be the only ones that will still do it. When you do just say youve just bought it. After that just keep renewing until you can get classic.
  7. Look at Turbo-Fever Build thread. He is mapped on ecumasters standalone. But if you ring around to tuners and ask if they mind mapping something different. Usually those who wont either havent touched anything but the one type of ecu they will map, are in contract with a company that makes tuning equipment that stops them from using others or they have stock of a certain ecu they want to sell. Either way if they where decent they wouldnt care what it was unless they had bad experience with said ecus and had good reason for recommending you dont use them.
  8. Your age is good, you can get classic insurance on it when we get to 2018... Best bet is for you to insure something with Liberty and then transfer over to the glanza after a month or so
  9. How old are you and what year is the glanza?
  10. Mate. Fuck them off. Honestly. A cheap untested ecu??? Bollox. Ssi map supras on them 600bhp on det3 and then the change to the full standalone 1000bhp+ They cant be very good if they are only willing to stick to what they know.
  11. Yep 1500 miles done, 4 oil and filter changes. Its now seen full load and 15psi on hybrid ct9. So will probably go for mapping after another 5/600 miles once he gets his new turbo kit.
  12. If its encased it is aftermarket Pull a drive cup out of the box and take a pic inside.
  13. Yes they do! They are much better specd than emanage. Standalone fuelling, boost control, switchable maps.. etc etc
  14. yeah you can click the BBCode button (looks like a light switch) on top left when replying and post the link between youtube] Or if you pm me the link i can edit this and post the vid here for you
  15. Ask if they will map an ecumaster DET3. If they will then its probably about the same new as what your mate is selling the used emanage for..
  16. its already calculated in if you look below shipping
  17. Yeah, we had this one tested in Murfits in dublin and it came back the exact same as the standard one. Still holds well.
  18. Sounds like dump valve on the intercooler piping just before it bends around to go up through the bay. Never seen one in that position on a starlet though lol
  19. And I have an lsd you can drop in
  20. Yeah they bolt straight on and are very good. One of the lads has one on his 4e with wepr ext ct9 kit, speedvision latest hybrid at 1.2 bar for the last 5/6k miles and its sweet. The pressure plate is standard but painted. Still a nice bite from the clutch without the leg work, however if you can get a stronger pressure plate even second hand I would recommend it.
