  1. Check for play in the box. The shaft should have a little in/out movement but no side to side
  2. Yes forgot about that! Crank/cam seals could be leaking
  3. Its just the belt slipping, its not tight enough. If it is tight enough start the car and check for side to side movement in the crank pulley by looking down while its running. If thats ok try some belt dressing. Its a spray that stops the squealing but its best to check for the issue before masking it
  4. Your going to have to figure it out yourself.. But like you said, you cant touch the machine when tracking so what would the numbers help with anyway? Just align the wheels so they are level. The way the alk adjusts castor is by pushing the ball joint forward, pivoting the whole wishbone around the front mounting by pushing the rear mounting to the outside of the car. So you could measure the angle from the front mounting to the balljoint on both sides, then adjust until they match.
  5. Terry would you sell your broken kit? I want to try something with it
  6. I dont think anyone sets them to a specific degree. They just make both sides even. its not like we have that much adjustability.. max 1 deg over standard. Unless you have castor adjustable top mounts..
  7. No, i would honestly let whoever is mapping it do the wiring as there are a few things you wont be able to do until its on the rolling road anyway like connecting the injectors cant be done while your doing initial fuelling settings and you need to cut the injector feeds from the standard ecu so you wont be able to drive the car without a map... If you want it done so you can go back to standard, buy a jumper/field harness. You can get one made also by ripping the female side from a spare ecu and buying the male plugs off somebody.
  8. I converted my car back to drums lol rear disks on a starlet are shocking
  9. Billet wheels, cams, manifold, mapping, compression ratio, boost control inlet mani design, ic and piping, downpipe and exaust diameter and restrictions etc All come into play
  10. The thing is they are still making money.. they are being paid for their services, just not getting the sale from the ecu in the first place. And we are talking about said lo-mid budget ecus, not the higher end that you mentioned so in this case the tuner should be well able to map a variety of them. Its plain greed. Dont get me wrong,I understand you point but in this secific situation the difference between the low-mid and high end ecus is irrelevant ans we are only discussing low-mid.
  11. Im saying to use the 4efte management. As in the ecu, loom injectors all sensors etc. Ive done it and the car is still going 2 years later with its new owner, even after it was stolen from me and rallied around for a night. The only thing that went where the turbo seals lol Ive also seen It done the way you want to try it But with 4efte injectors and the engine lasted about 4 runs of a quarter mile. If you have the time, money and engines to waste then try it.. The more you fail, the more you lean. But if you do try it corolla injectors wont be enough. also dont use other cars as a dir
  12. Did you see the independent rear suspension setup I posted before
  13. If using a 4efe crank make sure to get it balanced.
  14. Very simple to fit. You need to test and calculate resistance of your sensors to input to det3 client. I do suggest however that you let the person thats going to map it wire the det3 in as the inputs need to be setup in the client also. The det3 in fit mode is standalone fuelling so you can run bigger injectors if you need to and rpm limit can also be raised.
  15. Im not saying he is "shit" i gave plenty of other reasons why he might not map them, thats the only one you have picked up on though. I am guessing you havent mapped a car yourself? The interfaces are o so similar between most of them. I havent been able to get my hands on unichip software because its dealer licensed and i havent been bothered to try and get a cracked version just to look at but ill bet its just the same as the rest ive played with. And straight back round to one of my other reasons why he might not map them and thats the fact that he has to be a dealer of unichip to map t
  16. content not found. Have you made it public or is it friends only?
  17. TD/Tf Vband adapters for the exhaust side. Opens up a whole world of possibilities lol
  18. +1. Cheap to make too and less time. still have to make a decat to match the lower than standard position of the turbo but still.
  19. If you can make good quality lots cheaper than the rest (which is entirely possible as you should have less overheads) plus complete orders within the uk and ireland faster then deffo go for it. Even if you bought bulk and then just bang a few out, throw them on ebay and on here along with a choice of flanges to suit different turbos it would be quite good. Another thing would be runner sizes, you could have 2 options. Big and small. Depending on power goal etc to aid spool/flow where required as thats something nobody offers off the shelf
  20. 2" id silicone piping will fit tight on a tf
  21. Mate on the lower end scale of things like emanage, DET3, unichip etc they are very similar. When the settings are basic like timing advance, timing retard and when they use the same fuelling algorithms and ve tables i cant see how you would get more power from one than you would the other. The higher spec stuff like what you mentioned i can understand but that a different ball game.
  22. No, you need to have to have a Main daily driver insured in southern ireland.
  23. Why not get a spare block with a good crank, get that decked and honed. then just rebuild into it. much better than having to wait for it to come back from machining. Plus, you going to have to have the engine out and in a machine shop to convert to studs..
