  1. Not sure on ecu pin but you can tap into the fp pin on the diagnostic port in the engine bay.
  2. Just use the original 12v feed to the fuel pump to activate the relay
  3. Fully understood but that is not the case here. Engine was running again 2 hours after the head was removed. The only difference is an actual athena gasket used this time. And it has just completed a 160 mile journey with no issues vs the 10 mile and few hours on the last gasket
  4. Stay standard if you only want to run 1 bar a good map and refreshed engine will be sweet. Just get it all balanced with flywheel and pulley on.
  5. You where lucky to get one that cheap.. the box must have been fucked? Its the 4age 6 speed im using but its only on a 4efe turbo for now so im not worried about the thinner gears.
  6. More comfortable, they wont be as aggressive as an aftermarket diff. Power isnt a problem they are just as reliable as the standard diff. If its purely for drag racing then aftermarket is much better, a welded diff would be best lol but for road and track use this is what id go for. Im putting the whole c160 6 speed lsd box into mine though.
  7. Thats fine then, and that is the case. We weren't made aware that the first one wasnt the athena gasket that we ordered and a quick google brought up athenas name. So, never having had an athena gasket, and given the fact that we bought from td we assumed it was the correct gasket and ordered 2 more. The packaging os literally the exact same as athena, only difference is colour and branding.
  8. Well if you dont use the toyo you can sell it to me cheap lol
  9. Also fyi Athena make a 0.85mm mls gasket too
  10. Not on me colin, have a look on google. I think idworkz sell them too if you go through the uk ep90 starlet options to engine parts
  11. They are Helical Phil. No worries about them wearing out like clutch type!
  12. I will be trying it with a build idea i have colin but toyota actually sell the 0.5mm 5e metal gaskets for about the same price as victor reinz. ill need all the compression i can get haha. thats if i can take 1mm off the block without maxing out the tensioner or any brackets fouling.
  13. Not my engine. This was built for one of my friends who brought hi car into my other friends garage where i was doing a few weeks work during summer hols from uni. He requested the mls gasket. Then it was factored into the CR calcs. which are now going to be off slighty as the athena gasket is 0.015mm thinner. Not to worry though!
  14. 8 bolt. Direct fit into a non lsd turbo box. Have 2 of them here.
  15. Central locking has a box under the dash check that?
  16. Yes but having never seen an athena gasket before, we made an incorrect assumption based on TD s reputation that they where in fact THE athena gasket everyone uses. Now. Im not sure if intentional or not but it seems like your having a go, like its our fault? When I did a search after receiving the first gasket I did a quick search and found that je proseal are made by Athena. Which reinforced my trust in td, thinking this is the right gasket. More searching now shows that although athena makes them they are of much less quality, lack the same coating on the gaskets athena make for thems
  17. Ive got a toyota lsd from an ae111 c160 box. £150 plus courier. Very good lsd.
  18. We ordered 1 of the athena gaskets and arp head bolt packages off tuning developments along with wossner pistons. The comment about an mls gasket being an mls gasket an that they shouldn't have different layers is incorrect. Have a look online and there is a full explanation on both the athena site and je proseal site about what they are made up of. We ordered the extra 2 gaskets when recieved this one. So we knew whT we where gettng when we did so but thought nothing of it, because it's TD.. and we where none the wiser.
  19. Well the Athena gasket has already out lived the JE gasket and has seen a bit of boost too. So far so good! Yup same failure just on different cylinders. I was originally thinking we got one from a bad batch maybe or that it was a one off.. but this is an eye opener
  20. This isnt good, especially when they are being sold as Athena gaskets and at about £100 a pop.. We bought 3 of them but luckily we had another order from idworkz which turned out to be proper athena gaskets. Im guessing there are more people out there with the same issue.
  21. Yeah.. thats the JE gasket not athena. So thats 3 of us with the same failure, with the same gasket. What did you use afterwards? Did you reskim/deck?
  22. Did you see the packaging it came in? Or who did it come from?
