I see your point for sure good luck with the search, maybe some of the irish lads can help you out

http://id-workz.co.uk/toyota/starlet/starlet-glanza-ep91/engine-tuning/oe-genuine-engine-gasket-set-4e-fte You'll get all gaskets and seals you need in this kit including valve stem seals
-
Don't mean to horrible- sell them for what you want for them not what other people say. They may have cost £1800 when new but they usually don't fetch such a strong price these days, i paid £200 for mine that were in good condition But like i say sell them for what you want.
-
I wouldn't bother with the springs unless you're going for big power or uprated valves. Id-Workz supply valve stem seals, and anything else you will need during the build for that matter
-
Yeah there's a lot of turbo body parts on some of the EP70/EP71 facebook pages but they're all in Malaysia
-
They're not that rare or expensive... And as above, you're not exactly going to have people lining up for a set of knackered coilovers...
-
You should change the stem seals but unless you're gouing for big power i would leave everything else to do with the valves. You should be changing everything on the engine if you're going forged really, like every gasket and seal and all bearings. Not to mention getting the bores honed, block decked and head skimmed (or at least get a machine shop to check them). New oil and water pump, timing kit etc. Most of all i'd get the crank polished, and reground if needed. No point in cutting corners on a forged build.

Looking for a CT9 hybrid that doesn't need a rebuild. Preferably one that's just been rebuilt or otherwise mint. All variations considered (tongs, speedvision etc) Please don't offer me something with blown seals/shaft play etc, already have a knackered one thanks Cash waiting for a good one!

I do around 70 miles a day in my advance thats on a td04 and mapped up etc. not too bad on fuel at all, used my ep80 for a year and it wasn't that much better on fuel than the GT lol... My advice would be don't have two cars on the road... in time you will resent paying all the money out for the glanza and only using it on a weekend.

Supply and fit the emanage blue, new dizzy cap and plugs and stuff, and a good 250 mile round trip...

Yeah wouldn't take too much, would be good if someone put it back to oem But then again it's a nice looking GT without the high insurance for a young/new driver i suppose -
From experience I would avoid Tuning Developments. Mine melted all 4 pistons 4 weeks after remap, and found a few other problems too (such as the base timing not being set etc). Essentially a £700+ remap and £450 worth of a blown engine down the pan... Not looking for an argument just saying....

I really like it. shame it's had the GT bits put on it though -
Will Hinchcliffe at RDT (Doncaster) Mapped a few starlets on here now including mine, would 100% recommend him knows what he's talking about very knowledgable and honest.

You got another GT now then Kieran?

Yeah sucks doesn't it One thing after another Just paid for a complete engine that's pretty local to me so hopefully that will bring a bit more luck and i might get to drive it for longer than 2 days at a time haha So the plan forward is; - Replace Gearbox seals (a bit weepy and i already bought the seals from toyota a while back) - fit the replacement engine - fit the standalone srf ecu - replace the seals on the tongs hybrid (not too bad, only puffs smoke out when re-opening the throttle after over run, but seems like a good oppertunity while turbo kit is off) - -
Yeah you have loads of good parts for sale too I'm sorted for an engine now though, managed to get one within collecting distance so all is good

Yeah make good use of the big parts washer at work, hopefully after machining and a new oil pump etc it should finally be ok lol. Just sent payment for an engine that i will collect asap so fingers crossed this thread will have a positive update at some point soon -
Plan on going for 175/50 next time i change the tyres, 55 profile is a bit too fat for me although it handles perfect
