  1. Thinking around 12? Can do earlier or later for me though i don't mind
  2. My dad always seems to go for Arai helmets. Can't comment too much as I don't have a bike but my track helmet is just a plain black arai helmet. Seasoned bikers will no doubt suggest others
  3. Hastings rings are good. used them twice now with no problems
  4. Yeah sounds epic! haha brutal machine. Yeah Sam can have an engine out in a few hours but it will take me a lot longer this time as i've not done it start to finish on my own but it will get there, in the mean time i will spray as many parts as i can!
  5. That looks awesome i have a friend who would love that! haha Well I had a few hours this weekend to start doing a few bits to this! Started preparing to take the engine out. As I said, I want to do as much if not all of this myself. I will no doubt struggle a lot with a lot of the rough stuff like drive shafts and such but i want to give it a go as much as i can! So i unbolted the passenger side bottom ball joint, took the split pin out of the end of the shaft and took the 30mm nut off with the windy gun and the shaft came out of the hub nice and easy. Drained engine oil and gearbo
  6. Dude looks awesome! I wanted that bumper! i was pestering lew for it haha! so that's what you were picking up Looks mega bet you're well happy with it!
  7. Cool guys spread the word to local people who maybe aren't on here... Depends on how far people want to drive really, will see how the weather is on the day and see what people fancy, Mr Moo's is a good drive out but the roads are good out that way i suppose
  8. 2 places for me and sam. if his isn't on the road he can bring my tatty glanza haha
  9. I don't think so. pretty sure they're different
  10. RIGHT! Sunday 29th of March? Hessle foreshore? Can always move off somewhere else but seems a good place for us meet to start with. I actually don't know the B roads around that side of Hull, I'm from near the coast but i'm sure Sam knows those roads well so if we did want to go for a drive we can follow him. Any other suggestions welcome!
  11. You should come to the meets in Hull. Once the summer kicks in again there are some good meets in Hull tbf. I'm going to try and organise a starlet meet over our way, you should come along to that when i get around to arranging one! There is a thread about it so keep an eye on it
  12. There's a few of us in hull. Me and Sam were in york on Saturday in my Glanza. Didn't see any starlets at all lol
  13. The GT engine was a standard rebuild couldn't afford to go forged at the time, everything brand new apart from pistons and rods. The Glanza engine came from a Glanza that a friend had bought, he drove the car etc and then removed the engine shortly after. I trusted him to know that it was a good engine tbf and it does seem grand up to now
  14. Someone had tried using double sided foam tape on my GT and it just fell apart and looked shit, the OEM clips hold them fine without it no problems
  15. They wern't interested at all, and coincidentally another engine they mapped around the same time failed with the same issue. They're a trader on here and i dont want to start world war 3 so i'll say no more on that haha. And yeah, it didn't completely give out, but it span one of the rod bearings. Tried the cheap fix of polishing up the journal and putting a new set of beaings in but it knocked straight away again. It's not all doom and gloom though, Overhauled an engine completely and rebuilt from scratch with toyota parts and a crank regrind and polish and a hone and it's been in m
  16. A standard starlet would last a long time, it's the fact that they mostly end up running a lot more boost than they were designed to, and poor upgrades and lack of mapping or poor mapping. My engine in the GT blew up because a poor map by what i thought was a reputable company... The engine in my Glanza blew up because the cam seal went and i'd driven it a good distance with no oil before i knew haha
  17. Do you service it regularly? and what does it rev to when you first turn it on in a morning?
  18. Got a good condition standard CT9 fitted running 0.9 bar on the SRF ECU now and it's immense! MUCH MUCH MUCH snappier than my TD04 GT. Absolute animal in the lower gears and the spool is still incredible in 4th 5th and even 6th! No dropping down the gears to overtake or accelerate, it just goes. The turbo chatter is insane too need to get it on video haha. Would fully recommend a good CT9 and plug and play set up!
  19. Depends what you want out of the car really. 50 profile have a larger sidewall, more sidewall flex on cornering. I prefer the look of 45 profile but prefer how 50's drive. 45's seem a lot harsher.
  20. Haha not just yet i'm afraid! Bit of an update! Bought a few turbos from members and one turned up yesterday from Liam Dodds, and it looked in very good condition! So rather than wait for the hybrid (which will probably turn up today ironically) went ahead and fitted it and the HKS system last night to get rid of the smokey knackered one. Turned out it's spot on! no smoke at all and pulls very very well. And as for the system, it's awesome! very burbly on tick over but totally silent when cruising/driving, bit of grunt on acceleration or decelertion. Suits me perfectly as t
  21. Cheers yeah they are very fun! i do enjoy spraying stuff even if i'm not that good, practise makes perfect!
  22. Me and sam will come down in ours, may bring some different ones from the collection this year! Always a great day/night with great company, i would fully recommend it to anyone who has never been!
  23. You should be good then you don't need loads of mods for a plug and play just a few of the basics really which you already have. A wideband is a sensor and gauge it comes as one. I have AEM on my GT and Glanza but I think I saw a thread for an innovate one for sale on here. Sam has an innovate one and that does the same thing.
  24. Haha I have lots of love for the starlets just need more time to spend on them
