  1. Thanks a lot dude, it really is stunning in the flesh. Was just a reasonably cheap candy base from ebay. Tempted to try some of their other colours and maybe do some wheels 😊
  2. I had the week off this week and safe to say I cracked on with this a lot I took the ball joints, track rods, discs and callipers etc off to get the hubs off and she had greenstuff pads which put a smile on my face. They're dead, pretty much metal on metal but i like to know that someone had fun in it. got the bootlid off and sprayed up. Bonded the spoilers on and fitted the glow panel. I soldered in some led's as there was no bulb holders present with the panel. they work pretty well and will give the same effect i hope. took the opportunity to smooth the lock, wiper and washer jet on the bootlid. came out ok- i'm not the best with filler. there used to be holes there, now there are none. Great success. I also went over the full window with tar and glue remover and a razor blade. Really don't realise how much traffic film and shit sticks to the window and even proper window cleaner won't remove it. Here's a pic of the left half of the window done with the razor blade and the right half not, you can really see the difference! I was on a roll so I bit the bullet and rubbed over the shell with 500 grit, put a couple of coats of primer on, flatted the primer out and then went ahead and sprayed it. Drivers side came out MINT! The compressor wasn't building pressure very well so the pressure dropped as i was putting a coat on the passenger side so it's a bit more peely but not the end of the world it should polish up ok i think. i watched a friend spray something recently and i got a lot of advice. I've never ever seen anybody spray anything before. It turns out i was spraying with too low pressure really. So for this i turned the pressure up quite a lot and mixed the paint a wee bit thinner and it went on soooo much better i was so pleased. Learnt more in the 5 mins of watching him spray than i ever have on my own. I decided after a lot of thought to spray the bay candy metallic gold. it could have gone crap or well but you can say that about any paint really. As it was a candy it was really dark even after i'd mixed it but chucked it straight over the silver base without even doing a test panel and hoped for the best. I'm really pleased with how it came out in the end- gave it two coats and then cleared it. no reactions as such but i accidently touched two areas with the air line/gun being the noob that i am hahaha. oh well the general idea still works. I took most things out but got lazy and just chucked the rest of the looms in bin bags and taped stuff up. overall there wasn't much gain in totally stripping the bay to nothing. Plenty of degreaser and tactical taping meant i was able to get pretty much 90% of it no worries bay in the base silver And 2 coats of candy, then a couple of clear coats annnnd it was done! a close up of the finished bay and this is how it sits now more or less- i've fitted the rear bumper now too but i didn't take a pic I picked a 4efte up the other night that i originally intended to put in the glanza which has shit itself AGAIN! but i've now decided to keep the ball rolling with this and put it straight in here! I have all the parts to build and engine from scratch so i will overhaul another engine at some point when i have the time to get the parts to the machine shop.
  3. I'll have a look in my mk2 tomorrow and see if I can take some pics of it fitted.
  4. Awesome I love the pigs haha. Just had a patrol Saxon sprayed up and refurbed as a gate guard looks awesome!
  5. I already have the extra security clearance, I've worked with the bowman stuff before- just taking it out of the vehicles for it to be barcoded. I also deal with DII restricted computer kit so I'm cleared for that. There were two foxhounds parked up arranged the same as the mastiffs in these pics but outside one of the hangers. I was so tempted but glad I didnt- a major general was visiting to say farewell to RAF 202 sqn E-flight so it wouldn't have been ideal to be having a wee photo shoot as he tips up haha
  6. Here's a few more pics of the story so far.... bagged some nice parts for her- some MK1 rear lights to go with the glow panel, a HKS Hi power silent exhaust, an oem 3 point rear strut etc a photo of the part shelf for the rebuild Found a few more goodies on here when i stripped the hubs/struts off- greenstuff pads (nearly dead) and good condition Cobra gas shocks/springs Did pretty well stripping the hubs. Discs didn't want to come off but got there in the end! Few more bits painted... this wing had horrible splits in the paint. total nightmare to get rid of Few pics of me taking the engine out. Sam steadied the engine of me as i lowered it down. started stripping the bay too so i can get it painted. Still a few bits left in but nearly there. not bad for an hours work and this is how she sits now. more updates soon!
  7. Won't be socks dude his glanza is still at racetech!
  8. Seen this car in person and it's a stunning example! Shame you're selling her but if you've got the legacy then fair enough. Sell it for what you want to sell it for, it's a very clean example and a lot of people will appreciate that. Don't listen to what other people think it's worth. I paid £1200 for my GT Advance but that certainly doesn't mean i'll sell it for that because it's worth much more than that to me!
  9. Thanks to everyone who turned up, shame about the weather! Still good to see some faces and have a chat in the pub! Awesome pics matt, i didn't get chance to take any Me and Sam went to halfords after leaving pub and we saw a Silver Glanza on the roundabout for St Andrews Quay haha don't think he's on here thoguh be seen it a few times
  10. Quick bump for tomorrow- don't forget the clocks change! My number is 07814102790 incase anyone can't find it
  11. search on here dude. i'll try and get a link to the other thread
  12. Yeah it's not always enjoyable tbh i work with a woman that's so stupid she defies the laws of humanity, but yeah it's always something different!
  13. I have at least 10 turbos on a shelf at my unit, i will have a look!
  14. This topic has been done to death. have a seach in the search bar, there's a topic on the go right now about it. Basically yes it's doable without opening the engine up at all. But if you have a quick search you'll find loads of useful information
  15. Haha i'll make it my mission to get a photo of it next to all the vehicle variants we have here. I've just been offered a sort of promotion- in a few weeks i'll be working with the bowman kit so i'll be spending a lot more time with the vehicles yay. All our UOR kit is going off to different units around the country though (until shit goes down and we become a UOR unit again) so there will only be a handful of sandy vehicles and we will only be left with green fleet.
  16. Any cars are welcome (within reason- no bad boy saxos haha) I'm going to send out some texts/facebook maessges tonight to lads who aren't on here or aren't regular users. Hopefully the weather will be good enough for ice creams!
  17. Boot looks awesome, when i attempt tp smooth bits it looks great but then when i drive it the filler sinks lol The wheel nuts probably don't fit becuse the bolt holes on the wheels are small. I had this on my work wheels. Try some steel tuner nuts or something? the standard wheel nuts are chunky
  18. Looking good Nath, you going to come to the meet on sunday?
  19. Where is that located on the car?
  20. I had an armrest in my GT between evo 4 recaros and it was fine, but i'm not sure in a glanza.
  21. Glanza/GT/4efe rod bearings are all the same. The cranks are the same in all variations of the 4e engine.
