Another set of melted pistons after remap...
Flaminsam replied to funny onion's topic in Negative Feedback
Number 2 has cracked a ringland and is out of round by around 2mm, 1 and 3 are out of round by around 1.2mm i believe. Pistons 2 and 4 are the worst out of the lot. Which now leads me to believe something could have gone adrift with the wiring to the emanage blue. Due to 1 and 3 not having as much damage as 2 and 4 it could possibly be a incorrect signal from the emanage altering the duration of the injectors. A bad soldered joint or something could have caused the resistance in the wiring to change. Just a shame that it happened to be an injector signal wire. More investig -

I hate it when some one questions my abilities to set the static timing. Find it quite offencive. The distibutor was bolted solid to the head. So therefore unless someone else has touched the two mate bolts that hold the distributor on since myself rebuilding the head, the timing should be set and remain set. I will personally check today the rotor arm to make sure that it also tight. -

Yes you are right charl does know her stuff. Plus doing physics at university also gives her a much deeper knowledge on molecular structure etc. I just hope a conclusion can be made and even a possible solution. The plugs were fitted at Td and I do believe they are ngk iridium heat range 7. Also while at td it had a new distributor cap fitted. Lets bear in mind that this was a standard engine with standard pistons etc. Maybe it was far too advanced ignition timing that caused this, but either way it has happened. Just a shame I was driving at the time and was pushing a xk8. :-( -
Na adam I would only return it when I realised how much it likes the go go juice. Cheers Liam, its come a long way since the shell I bought for only 80 quid! ;)

The boot featuring not alot apart from a cusco rear strut brace, battery and washer bottle. the front, not alot to see here. some lovely seats, i do believe from a integra dc5? the engine bay as it stands fo

starlet sr quiery and appreciation
Flaminsam replied to gbobnopants's topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
Firstly, welcome to the site. There are a few SR owners on here and many of them enjoy their N/A starlets just as much as those of us with GT's or glanzas. The 4efe engines are almost identical to the 4efte engine although the 4efe has a higher compression ratio and weaker valve springs. Some easy modifications i believe to make the 4efe a little bit quicker are relitavely simple to do. For example the Corolla inlet from a 4efe frees up a few ponies, also the 4efte inlets and throttle body work too. If i were you, i would look through some build threads that other members have -
Indeed it has lew. More to come though. And Marc you will just have to wait and see

The two plugs are the same, (no male or female) they interconnect and i have made up my own jump leads. il see if i can get a picture of them together when i go to my lock up again. a little like this. https://engineering.purdue.edu/ece477/Webs/S08-Grp12/pics/TwoWheelDeal04.jpg

lol thanks adam. The braided hoses i got from on here i do believe the fronts are not from a starlet though as the fittings were incorrect. ive sorted it now though by making the new pipework up. The rear arb sits nicely on the car. Maybe the brackets are a touch low but i can always sort them out when i have time. BIG NEWS! After alot of searching and contacting Various Companys about a TD04 external manifold i have finally bought one. Took the plunge this afternoon and bought a brand new manifold, down pipe and screamer. (there goes my hard earned pennies!) All i need now is a Ext
