i had one of these till the floor pan fell out. had a ca18det one too. GLWTS buddy. -
the default limits are specified at the end of that flow chart. failing your car on the emissions is a good possibility. who is to say you didnt get the engine from a gt? I had a fiesta many moons ago. it started life as a 1.3 single point injection but the engine had been removed. It was a 1995 car or M reg. I also had another fiesta 1.6s. The 1.6 was a H reg. I transplanted the 1.6 into the 1.3 shell and took it for mot. The tester immediately said it would fail on emissions. I consulted my local Vosa testing station in beverley and got a firm answer. The emissions should be releve

check this from the current MOT testers manual. http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/htdocs/m4s07000309_1.gif if you follow the flow chart it simply tells you to carry out a vehicle specific test. by the way this is after the vehicle has failed a standard cat test. this works for ep82's and early glanza models.

On what car? Of its glanza or gt it doesn't matter about a cat. They should do a vehicle specific test (if they follow the manual properly) and the machines in the uk do not have glanza or gt on their databases. So it has to meet the minimum requirements I.e a non cat test. If its a uk n/a then you have to have one. I'll try to find the details online when I get in.

Torque Settings for 1.2mm head gastket
Flaminsam replied to Mernagh's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
I presume they will be the same as normal? Its only the torque for the headbolts. The gasket will still get sandwiched between the head and block as normal? -
When I fit charls recaros from an evo 4 they pretty much bolted in. But yea get some flat bar and weld the feet to the bars then mount the rails to the said bars with feet on. Also be carefull not to burn the carpet. ;)

Agreed. No such thing on a starlet buddy. Probably just the clutch given up.

K reg gt turbo do I need a silencer for mot
Flaminsam replied to Jarrod's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
No you don't need a cat. As the other guys have said its up to the tester to say yes its fine or ouch my ears are bleeding. Your car is subject to a emissions test. Every car is. You car will fail a cat test. If the tester follows his guidelines in the testers manual, he should then do a vehicle specific test. With starlet gt's not being a uk car they are not on the data base. So the tester must do the minimum requirement. I.e a non cat test. This also applies for glanzas. -
Driving is a privilage, not a right. I do believe older generations should take a test to prove they are still aware enough to drive. Chances are the old folks that (possibly) hit your car learnt to drive many moons ago. You kno, when jousting was more popular than football.

Scrap yard. The blanking grommit is the same on celica, corrola and uk starlet.

Where are you based? -
The sensor wire is shorting to ground. Check the wiring to the sensor and the sensor itself. If you disconnect the sensor wire does it still flicker like that? If it does then the wire will have a short to ground somewhere. If not I would suggest changing the sensor.

Some people should not be let on the roads in these conditions.
