  1. See to be honest i cant recall many people actually messing around with box / ratio combos. The majority is just gonna have to be guinea pig type shit!
  2. Aye youre scared for your teeth kinda spec haha
  3. Sit in drift spec car with actual solid metal mounts and you'll know what a proper rattle is haha.
  4. Seen full looms with stalks etc go for 150 so minus a few quid and see how it goes
  5. etching k s inc = HKS Same company.
  6. Thats a HKS
  7. Get some black powerflex ones and your missus will be gushing everytime you stop at a set of lights! Even the yellow ones will do the trick. Bought a set of the softer again red ones Jezza does, not fitted yet but heard good reviews
  8. If anyone is looking for a bit of info into actually doing the conversion then here are the main areas.. The 4paw sump needs an oil return fitted (welded in) You cant use a normal FTE sump, it fouls the transfer box. You cant just bolt on a starlet turbo exhaust either, as i said the floorpan is totally different. I had a 2.5" system custom made, its a very tight fit around the axle area but it can be done. Although my car is pretty high at the back.. Lowering a 4paw is a bit of a pain aswell, any normal starlet turbo coilovers will fit both front and back but it will sit face down ass up. To lower the back properly you can either mod the suspension turrets, mod coilovers or buy the 4paw specific Meisters. With the floorpan being different you cant bolt in GT/Glanza seats either, i used the original EP85 seat rail and base and fitted a GT seat back to that, and GT cloth over the seat base. But you can buy 4paw specific recaro rails if you want to run bucket seats. The loom, right well all i did was swap the engine ancillary loom into the engine bay, and this plugged right into the existing bay fusebox. Fitted a GT ECU at the same time. The car would have ran at that but i wanted GT dials so i swapped in a full GT dash with loom. Also swapped the rear lights and looms too. There is probably a bit more to it than that but thats the main things. Lots of normal starlet parts will fit, turbo kit, intercooler, engine mods like injectors, fuel rail ect. As for handling mods, a few of the braces fit, ALK, some poly bushes etc. Its actually more straight forward than most people think
  9. That would be the best thing in the world mate seriously! Haha thanks
  10. What you need to do is get an EP95 and swap all your turbo stuff into that. The 4paw floor pan is totally different to a FWD starlet. This is one of these threads where this will never progress into anything other than a question so im gonna leave it at that..
  11. Pretty sure theyre a 22mm yeah. Awesome man yeah will do cheers
  12. That offer was mostly a joke haha. The rear 22mm castle nuts and covers i need like yesterday, the other shit can wait. I'll obviously give you some beer money for your time if you could whip them off when you get a min If not its totally cool. Just let me know either way i know we're all busy and the weathers that shit for working on cars :/
  13. Correct torque procedure for the headbolts? Head skimmed? No hairline cracks in the block etc? Or yeah maybe just do another oil flush and see how you get on
  14. £2.60, half a bag of wild berry skittles and i'll even give you twos on a joint?
  15. If you rotate your injectors 180° you can take off the plastcic cover and tuck it all down near the inlet runners. Looks a bit neater.
  16. Also 2 rear brake castle nuts for the wheel bearings. And the covers which go over the bearings. Ones in good condition please.
  17. Theres a lot of things we cant get here in the UK without having to pay insane postage / customs charges from Japan. For example those track tyres you bought.
  18. Aye do that and keep the airfilter where it is. The intercooler and exhaust are still standard yeah? Then fingers crossed you 'should' be fine at standard boost. Ie not creeping to FC levels. Unless you are tanning along foot to the floor in -7°C or something haha.
  19. Least youre ok buddy! Set of rainsport3 on a daily in these conditions are honestly a life saver, give em a try
  20. Its sketchy turning the boost up, or doing so by mistake ie creep. When you are still using the standard non ported exhaust manifold, have you seen runner 3 on a standard manifold? Its as tight as fuck! Pretty dangerous to the engine at any more than standard boost. Theres a few ways to do this. My advice, from messing about with starlets for the best part of a few years.. do it once and do it right. Ive made silly mistakes with modding starlets, not the same as yourself, and its cost me 2 engines..
  21. Im with you on that, havent used any of those tuners myself (due to distance) but it would be good to hear from what the main tuners on hear have to say about it Why they generally keep the rev limit below the 8k mark, from what ive seen anyway, there may be a few cases where its higher.. As for the P&P ECUs, i had a Mines, revved to something daft like 8.5K, but FTE valve springs are what 20years old now so id say they'd have sagged and running that high RPM on old FTE springs is sketchy at best. But cant see why a tuner wouldnt increase the revs right up when new uprated springs are used, unless solid buckets etc are needed? Or they are just being slightly cautious. Who knows.
  22. Maybe just playing it safe, certain tuners in the starlet world already have a shady rep as it is..
  23. Phil is that the GT which uses the MDX555 or am i thinking of another car?
  24. Quiet exhausts are for pussys...
