  1. You raced them against each other yet no?
  2. Is it using oil or water? Most 4E smoke a bit these days. My 4E corolla is on 160k and uses a bit of oil.
  3. If white then its water, probably just condensation in the exhaust. You notice it more in the winter normally nothing to worry about.
  4. Get some spray grease into it, or even normal clean engine oil on the key and just work it in and out till its freed up. Worth a go anyway before going to the hassle of changing the locks.
  5. On newer cars yes OBD tuning can work well. But starlets are too old to have OBD. That wasnt mandatory until 2001 for petrol and 2003 for diesel.
  6. You better be careful.. you need to have an FIA approved roll cage and fixed back bucket seat to run one of these bags! Or the harness police will shout at you!
  7. There was atleast one guy.. hang on i'll find the thread. http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/86708-boosted-nymphos-td05-twin-scroll-glanza/?hl=%2Btwin+%2Bscroll
  8. See i thought they were kinda between a TF035 and a TD04, but i duno 100% A TD04 is a newer design, so it might make more power that way rather than physical size. Ideally need the turbos side by side then back to back dyno runs to get any concrete facts about them.
  9. I ran one on my 85, but only for a couple of weeks. I only ran it at 0.6bar and never had a dyno figure. Spool was similar to a TD04, maybe slightly more 'laggy' Never had one side by side a TD04 but i think its bigger. Compressor housing looks bigger and they use a P15 exhaust housing. Old skool journal bearing turbo just keep wacking the boost up till it stops making power
  10. Looked smart, anyone on here? Ive not seen it kicking around before.
  11. If the ECU is cheap / free if you already have it? Then yeah fire it on why not see if it does make a difference. Then you can always get an EMB down the line. Its defo possible to get 100 outta them without too much work
  12. Yeah i know the car, used to be Geos girlfriends 95. May aswell fit it then yeah, not sure if they were the only differences, (injectors too maybe) but if you reckon theres 10bhp in it then its worth a go
  13. Saying that if its the 95 i think it is then it wasnt the very late spec (so still used a dizzy setup) Id you have it to hand fire it on, it will be better suited to the Corolla inlet if you plan to go down that route anyway.
  14. I doubt it would do anything worth noting tbh. Did it have the DIS / coilpack ignition system? If so then that ECU wouldnt even run on your car with a dizzy setup. Gen1 100ps ECU from a Gi / 85 / Soleil is the one you want. Its got a higher rev limit than a UK ECU aswell. Or just get an EMB wired in job done
  15. What year of 4paw? The stuff i mentioned was all on a Gen1 FE EP85 The EP95s (well the late Gen3 ones) have corolla inlets, dark green injectors, knock sensor, 4 wire o2 sensor, DIS ignition etc.. basically set up for economy rather than power. Gen1 stuff is what you want! You got a pic of the ECU youre getting? I have the numbers here i'll match to mine
  16. Think you'll find that ds2500 are actually made from kryptonite mate.
  17. Times have changed since then (for the better, for sellers) Its worth 3.5k all day long. Seen this car in person, Kev has put a lot of work into it and so did the last owner, and he was fairly local as well. Free bump man hope it goes to a good home!
  18. At this moment in time, i am keeping it.. However i will leave the thread open incase i change my mind in the future Thanks for the interest
  19. To run the early 100ps ECU you ideally need to matching pink injectors, the Gen1 FE also used the FTE style inlet and TB. Differnet exhaust mani, but use a 5EFHE exhaust mani or a good aftermarket one. Also the Gen1 had a FTE flywheel (get it lightened), 212mm clutch, rods are thicker (possibly GT rods in the Gen1) and also the crank is a turbo crank. Get that lot dropped in your SR and it will be awesome!
  20. Or if its a late GT turbo you 'need' a CAT too. From (reg from 31 July 1995 i believe) Make sure the CAT you get is in good condition and the car gets a good run before its MOT tested. Also make sure your engine is running normally and youve no exhaust blows, not burning oil, no leaky injectors, blocked air filter etc because even with a CAT you can still fail emissions. Best of luck, MOTs are a cunt :/ Or if this works then Jackpot! Just a lot of them wont take the risk.
  21. Look at me, look at me Driving and I won't stop And it feels so good to be 'nearly' alive and on top.. of my roof because i used fake harnesses. (If anyone doesnt get this then jesus fuck man :/)
  22. I dont have a harness bar for them though, i better watch out for the harness police...
  23. Mines is a genuine fake usdm rep
